Forums - Nintendo - NSMB Wii- You Can't Keep Yoshi

One of the reasons why I prefer SMB3 to SMW is that Yoshi was handy in some levels but more of a liability in others.

But a lot of times he was very helpful. And if you didn't like him just kill him.

Edit: Yes, like that. lol

This means that some levels will have secrets that you need Yoshi to reach, and to find those secrets you will need to find the secret hidden Yoshi in that level, instead of just grabbing the Yoshi in another level and then heading over there on the map.

I can dig it.

Who needs Yoshi-the-computer-aid when you'll be mashing this game with the help of 3 other buddies??? ^__^

Absolutely not true. There is not even one level where Yoshi was bad to have at all. The A button guaranteed that he was, at worst, a non-factor and never a liability.

Yoshi was one of the way too powerful aspects of SMW. Blue Yoshi was essentially a cape on crack, and the cape was absolutely broken. He also served as an extra life, or a way to by pass a lot of switches and the like. I don't like that he is limited in theory, but I think it will make for a better game.

It's an issue of them keeping a tighter control on gameplay, which i can understand, even if it is a bit disappointing. Yoshi will work in those levels he is meant to work in, and nowhere else.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You are right about that , he did make the game too easy on certain levels.

DKC style. Levels will be designed specifically for Yoshi, or for no Yoshi. No prob.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

I things that make you feel powerful are broken then yes.

Personally, I loved being able to just fly past levels with the cape, it made the game special, some games need stuff like that to become more fun^^

I LOVE ICELAND!

At least he doesn't dissolve in water...
