It'd be a pathetic loss for the 360... MS had pulled out all the stops to outsell the Ps3 this gen. Rushed the 360 and released a year earlier. Spent 1 billion on RRoD instead of recalling. Secured tons of exclusive JRPG to attack the Ps3's home turf. Secured big 3rd party multiplat exclusiive DLC... all for what? To get beat yet again. No denying they've came a long way conpared to last gen but losing after the effort the put forth would be a major blow. And comparing the Ps3 to the Ps2 just really isnt that fair. For the first time EVER there are three viable options on the market. Ps3 wont achieve the same success as the Ps2 but not many other console have sold as much as the Ps3 will and no console so far has sold as much as the Ps2.

yeah the race is on...it's just a matter of time who locks the 2nd place for final....the moment ps3 seals the gap, next Xbox is out from M$.

I think a more realistic way to discuss this is the aforementioned numbers last year...the 360 outold the PS3 from here on out by 2 million. As of now, the 360 is trending lower than the PS3 and the PS3 is trending higher than the 360 compared to last year. To me, we could see, based on these numbers the PS3 outselling the 360 WW from here on out by 3 million given the others sales and japan with FF13.

So then when we get to 2010, the gap is 4 million. Even if we dont factor in GT5 WW, God of war small bump in others and America, Yakuza small bump in japan, the PS3 would need to outsell the 360 by 77k a week for it to pass the 360 next year in 52 weeks.

Obviously natal and the wands are mysteries as far as sales bumps and next years holiday trends could show the 360 outselling the PS3 over the holidays, but i think its looking more and more like the PS3 will catch the 360 this gen.

Let us also not forget when discussing 360 vs PS3 sales the 360 had a year head start as the ONLY next gen console on shelves, this cannot be ignored when comparing OVERALL sales, a 12 month head start with no competition WW and the PS3 didnt even launch in others until the end of March 2007. All of these are real factors to bring into the discussion which makes the PS3 even coming close to the 360 all that more impressive.

Look, the ps3 began to catch much momentum before the 360's last price drop. then all of a sudden the 360 consistantly out sold the ps3 for months, maybe a year, or so . well, now the 360 dropped their price around the same time as the ps3 . so, this time the ps3 has consistantly outsold the 360. was the magic number 299? I dont know but it seems like a big improvement. really, didnt the 360 come out around a year before the ps3? as far as I am concerned sony's next gen console came a year later than microsofts. to be as close to microsoft as sony is only goes to show that the 360 isn't as impressive as some would like to make it. i mean these threads that compare the two hd consoles is rediculous. money talks, and the wii has clearly been dominating this gen. the wii has always been less expensive than its competitors. um, is the wii a better condsole than the other two? nope. Yes the ps3 can catch the 360, but will it matter? doubtful.

who gives a shit, i want them both to do well, both need to smack each other, when this happens we win, better games for all, i have ps3 and 360, i prefer my ps3 but they both are saling well, they both are releasing great games. let it rest, wheather the ps3 or 360 sales more your dick will not grow, i promise

Oh boy, Sony's big price drop has closed the gap by a fraction and probably added to the already huge financial losses. MS is up against the wall now.

I know that VGchartz is supposed to be all about sales #'s but still....

In the end it doesn't matter who comes in 1st, 2nd or 3rd; All three consoles are doing well this generation and will likely contribute to the industry for a long time to come.

If we look in the Past Nintendo came in the buisness and completly changed to whole thing with the NES they were market leader from the beginning. Then came the SNES and the Gameboy They ruled from the beginning. Sega came too but always suffered.

Then came Sony right from the Start they dominated the Home Console market 2 gens long pretty much like Nintendo did ( Infact way more). Now they lost a lot ( if you compare it to the previous gen) just like Nintendo with the N64.

MS tried to be like Sony: Xbox--> FAIL.

Of course it was their first time but did Sony had to learn something or Nintendo ? No they were the Kings from the beginning made no compromisses and ruled.

(After the second Gen in lead it seems the Companies fly to high so they learn their lesson and make it even better.)

Ok second try: Xbox360 mediocre but still the second best MS Product. They failed again this time not against Sony but against Nintendo

Now they want to be like Nintendo----> It will be a fail Nintendo is unique and MS has not a chance to do what they did. They try the same, we see it when Natal launches. But thats Nintendos Game they invented it and MS has not a Chance in Hell to beat them.

I say you how its going to end. MS will be third in their second attempt to gain the crown. They will be like Sega. Respected and maybe even loved by some people but never the Kings in the buisness. MS has a Rip Off Strategy and in my eyes they just dont deserve to be on top. They dont offer something unique infact they dont even have own games. The exclusives are more or less PC Games.

I pray to god that Sony dont start with the same things like MS did. Maybe some people dont mind if they suck the money out of their pockets but I do. I dont want to pay for 100 Different Addons just to make my Console Complete. I dont want to pay for Online Gaming.

The buisness Model of MS is horrible in my eyes and I cant see why Xbox is so popular in America.

I think the OS market is enough its a gaint market they should be happy with what they have even if they lost some market share over the years they still have enough.

Sonys behaviour in Terms of Statements was horrible in the last few years but I think they got their lesson. Infact I am an opportunist. And I let me convice always if the product is good. First I supportet the Nes then the Snes then the PS1/N64 then the Dreamcast and then the GameCube. Because i like Quality.

If the Company offers me what I Want I am with them.

The Xbox definetly never appealed to me. For me its just a Rip Off with too less games I want. Europe and Japan are Sony territory. Not because they are biased against US Products or something no you can see a lot of American Products here where the people go crazy about it like Apple. Or clothing.

But the Xbox360 is the inferior Product. Sorry I cant see the Advantages off the Xbox not one. Ofcourse they have Mass Effect and Gears of War but thats not enough. The Super Cool online feature like I always read in the Internet could be maybe good fact is I never saw an Xbox Online not once in my life all people I know dont want to pay for Online. The PSN offers more then I need and I am more then satisfied.

The people here bought the Xbox just because the PS3 was too expensive. Because Online Costs, they dont even know that the Xbox has no Wifi. Infact I know it since the last weeks I thought this was Included in the Xbox Pro Unit. the people bought the Xbox ONLY because you can Pirate the Games. Thats the reason why it is successful and because the people could not afford a PS3.

I dont know how it is in the US. The Xbox delievers maybe exactly what the market wants. Or maybe the PS3 was just too late or too expensive atleast the people/parents thought it. Ms opened the Gate for Online Fees in the future.

As everyone statet ANALYST said Natal will cost just 50 Dollar and Wand will fail.

I say the same Analyst said recently that the fee for Xbox Live will be 100 Dollar a year in the next few years because MS wants more money.

I really hope that Sony wins and MS will change their Concept I really hope this. Vice Versa it would be sad and bad for us all.
