Mine was about if hospitals should be allowed to pay people for donating organs and blood

I chose to outlaw it

For me i think it'd depend on what organs.

I've really got no problem with it unless it's like someones heart or something that you NEED to live.

I mean, honestly the biggest argument i've seen against it is "The poor will feel pressured to donate their organs."

However, those arguements always seem to ring false to me because it's not like the poor will be MORE poor if organ selling is legal.  They'll be just as poor as they are now.

It reminds me of child labor laws.

Great in the first world... but do you know what the main sideffect of child labor laws in 3rd world countries is?  Dead children.

There is of course worries about organ stealers, but this already happens... I don't see this being legal increasing that buisness too much so long as it's properly regulated.

That's the easiest test of all. Organ must beon the person and the DNA must match the person it is in. No loopholes no nothing.

They will be just as poor, but with less of their precious organs to live. The problem I have with selling your organs off is it creates health problems in the lower class. Any truly redundant organ wouldn't have any value, and the ones you need would cause massive complications associated with them. I suppose maybe the liver I would be ok with since it kind of re-grows, or is fully functional withonly half of it or something. But even something as simple as a kidney could end up shortening someone's lifespan quite significantly.

Actually if they decide to sell their organs they won't be as poor, unless they waste the few grand you'd get from donating a kidney or liver or something.

Choosing to shorten ones lifespan isn't the same as outright choosing to die for a paycheck.

Hell people choose to shorten their lifespans every day for much less payoff then 20+ grand.

Hell, most people pay other people to shorten their lifespans.

20k+ was not quite the range I was thinking of. In that case I have fewer objections. In the end they would probably still end up poor though. Capitalism requires there be a lower class. The question is whether the quality of life of the lowest class is improved enough to make up for the increased health risks associated with the organ harvest.

Lots of things sound wrong without further research.

Like the aforementioned children labor.  However child labor is actually a GOOD thing.

They keep orphaned children alive in poor countries AND they make the price of goods like food and clothing cheaper which benefits the world as a whole.

In an imperfect world, sometimes those ideas that sound horrible at first, are actually good ideas.

Huh, our NSE thing is broken.

Yeah its been that way for a little bit. I don't know what is up with it. I need to see how my countries compare to the others! My epeen needs stroking!

I just liked it because it showed stuff I can't find.  Like the GDP and % of diffrent allocations tax wise.  Unless that's somewhere on the original page and i missed it.

I was being semi-serious with my post. I like seeing how it all compares just to know where my country stands. I also love all the little stats that don't get shown anywhere else, and I have no idea what it is even based on honestly. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. I really do love the NSE bit.
