I'm all for simplifying the tax code (and thence enforcement), but I think it's a bit much to ask the revenue system to collapse just to show people taxes need to be paid. (Although it would take more than 1-2 years for most people to work up to ignoring their civic responsibility.)

And there are plenty of people that wouldn't admit we need tax collectors even faced with anarchy outside the door.

It's not like you'd have to convince EVERYBODY.   I mean what percentage of our budget does the IRS take?  Clearly those groups are so marginalized it wouldn't matter.

It's the same thing with your DoD comment.

If it really gets to the point of where you can't convince a sufficent number of people that a deparment isn't worth saving... it probably isn't.

The only real difference is that i'd make each "tax vote" proportional rather then just be what you paid in taxes.  Reasons being obvious.

I disagree.  I mean if it's one more box to check on a tax form why wouldn't you bother?

It's not like voting where you actually have to go somewhere or something.  Just another box on you tax forms.

I mean, honestly i think a lot more people would vote even if we just made voting day a national holiday.

Oh snap... My economy went form pretty god to weak with that tax thing..... Things are REALLY not going the way I want them to go.
