proving more that Ninty dont give a damn. As if we should care or Nintendo should care. What third parties did in this generation was just milking the proven franchise and stomp it on the ground. Bet on wrong consoles and makes shovelwares in any system(not only on the Wii). Now third parties suffer the consequence.
I wonder when will the next video game crash begin? Well thats harsh I mean video game implosion. I want the new genration(casuals to you) to reign in the new generation of gaming.

i agree with both of yall on this. The wii is selling so well because of its price point and originality. But now MS and Sony have both lowered the price and are about to launch motion control. so the deciding factor for people when they go to buy the systems will be the games. And in order for any system to sell 3rd part support has to be there. Flagship franchises can only carry you so far.

Except Nintendo still has the games, the games that made Wii sell so much are games like Wii Fit, Wii sports, Wii Play, Mario Kart and the like, and soon to be NSMB, Sony, MS, and the third parties can't compete with that, they may have motion controls and a lower price point, but as long as they can't compete with Nintendo, it won't matter how much third party support they have, they won't outsell Wii.
Halo, GTA, Call of Duty, etc. those won't carry a system to Wii level sales, those are the games that third parties put out, but those aren't the games that Sony and MS need.

You both have good points but there are one or two I disagree with.
1) The wii is selling well because of it's originality. Full stop. I don't think price is much to do with it. If price was all that mattered the x360 would have outsold the wii by now.
Seriously, think for a second and be honest. If the wii had the same gamepad controller as the other two consoles where do you think it would be?
Don't go down the path of "if the wii was more expensive" it wouldn't sell because it is not expensive and could never be expensive due to it's hardware.
2) Gamecube had mario last gen and it didn't help much in terms of consoles sales, granted that wii fit and such weren't on the gamecube.
Which brings me back to the first point, originality. These games are only really possible on the wii.
The wii was also kicking ass before wii fit. wii fit just re-enforced it.
3) Third party developers give you options and variety. This industry is bigger than MS, Sony and Nintendo.
Third Parties make a good living because of Sony and MS more so than nintendo. COD, GTA, FIFA, Batman etc., all benefits the industry.
Nintendo might rule the roost in terms of wii and it's own software sales but for many developers the real money is in PS3 and X360.
The x360 and PS3 may never catch wii in console sales but cash earnings from the HD consoles are far more dispersed because of the 3rd party support for these systems.
If you compare the earnings percentage of Nintendo's software against all 3rd party software on the wii there is a big winner.
Compare combined 3rd party developers earnings against MS and Sony's earnings on multiplat software and you see the difference (the figures are out there somewhere).
If you like real driving sims, FPS and such like the wii is not for you.
i am not knocking the wii. I am a big N supporter. I am just telling it as I see it. The wii fits my fun with friends niche exactly as nintendo intended.
So to sum up, 3rd party support will never take the HD consoles to the wii levels of sales but the wii will never have the massive library and options that the HD consoles do.
