Forums - Website Topics - Console badges make it easier to spot trolls

The badges are going to make people have a preconceived notion of what a person is like because of what color is under their avatar. It is a form of profiling and stereotyping in my opinion. This why I ditched my badge.

It is not your tags that make a troll, it is the comments they make. Just because someone does not own a specific console does not mean they have nothing worth while to add to the conversation.

Not owning a console shouldn't and doesn't preclude you from posting in that section.

Exactly, there are plenty of people here that can have a well rounded decent discussion without owning that console.

The big thing is of course owning a console and its games (What's seen for one's badges) rather than having access to a console and its games (not seen through badges, for example: I have ample access to my brother's 360... in fact its hooked up to a t.v. in my room ). This could be interesting because I could be very easily labeled as something I'm not simply because I don't actually own that system or its games, even though I play it constantly. Of course, that's their problem... and not mine.

But like others said, it should be one's posting that tells others who they are and what they're about. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I've noticed it doesn't always show all the tags for every recent system you've got. Lame.
