Forums - Gaming - Reaction Then and Now

Post a trailer, and tell me how you felt when you first saw it, how hyped you were, and what you think now that you see the same trailer again.

I thought that it was extremely bad ass, and that I was about to enter a real world simulator. Now I feel that it's a well made trailer, but that the mystery of it let my imagination go wild.

Sweet music, awesome graphics, and a silent protagonist. Dissapointed by the cut scenes, story, main character, but the graphics were great, and gameplay could be awesome if it was improved a bit.

Was really going ZOMG, and thought that it was too good to be true. After it was proven to be fake, I was extremely dissapointed. But playing the game now, I can go "heh", and know that the actual game is even more chaotic and cinematic than that.

after watching this trailer, i was like, this is it, this is the last game i will ever play, because it will be the best game ever and i wont be able to enjoy another game, in that regard it has disappointed me a little, still amazing game.

O.o that was fucking epic. Did Twilight Princess live up to its hype?

^ no game can live up to a hype like that, it was still a fantastic game though, just wished it had better side quests.

This is what I was thinking: It started to remind me of the Goddess scene in OoT with the storm and all, and I was like Zelda Wii? Then the camera is zooming up from toward the sky. I was thinking is this Kid Icarus?  Then it moved up to the ships, and you see an anime-esque short haired character, a Star Ocean game? Then I was debating whether it was samus or not, then I saw Adam and knew. After the trailer progressess, I realized that this may very well be the best game ever for me. *drools*. Now i guess this isn't valid for discussion until the game is released, but everytime I watch the trailer I'm amazed. Hopefully I won't be when the game released. Then, I should know that it is much better than the trailer could ever show.

Twilight Princess had an awesome main quest. What it lacked in imo, was that it was so desolate and the characters had no feeling behind them. There wasn't anything to really do after beating the game as well. They did so much right in Majora's Mask and to a lesser extent, Windwaker, yet they didn't carry the major things over to Twilight Princess. Even still, it is a great game, and can't be bested by just anything.

i thought it was open world and that the AI was awesome and the game was fun and mostly i thought that you die easily , like demon's souls it FITS these types of games very well(what i got was one of the easiest games) , i actually boycotted every media about that game after that and went to buy it at full price ( 70$ ) and got an Ass of a game and i was nearly gave up on gaming .... until i got MGS4

after i heard that i thought this game was going to be the best game ever made, and thought that guy is a genius, but its ALL lies and just plain bullshit. i will never ever trust him again after he did it twice with fable 1 and fable 2

Although I don't have a 360 and followed Fable, I could really see myself getting hyped into Fable. It's weird. Games like Assassin's Creed, Fable, fuck, even the early hype of Prototype, have mystery and a expectation that we're going to be in a real world simulator.

Maybe that's why games like Oblivion and Fallout 3 do so well...

Awesome music (got both of the band's albums now), and after playing the game, I have to say that it met my expectations of being really bad ass. The controls are so awesome and intuitive, that you can easily do cool moves and stuff. It'll be really nice if they had a bullet time feature, and even a recording/rewinding feature. It's so bad ass to just grind rail around the city, to jump and snipe, throw a grenade and jump off a building.

I hope that the next story is a bit more bad ass though... it feels a bit silly fighting against Reapers, Dustmen, etc.

I shat my pants when I first watched it. Watching it today, I'm still convinced this will be my GotY 2010

So awesome, and the only game I have ever been changing my avatar of in anticipation!

This was gonna be the most awesome game of 2008 for me, according to the trailer at least. It did dissappoint though, even though I still loved it. Everything but gameplay had me dissappointed in some way...

My Wii can't handle this thread for more than two seconds! Love the concept, though. I'm tagging it for later.
