I think the best way to handle series that are very similar I think we'll just list it as the series
so some series limits, the best 3 megaman, 1 lolo (I think on this one just lolo as a series will suffice as they are very similar), 1 each of the capcom disney game series,
games that are significantly different like super mario bros series or double dragon should be seperated,
also atma I'm dropping the 2nd gen ports except mario bros, the dk classics, and galaga (as it was the first US console port of galaga)

Has anyone else played Sunday Funday? Maybe that could be added to the list.

I don't think listing a serie instead of a game is a good idea. This list is a Top 100 NES Games not a Top 100 NES Series. We just have to list some of the best iterations ot the series.

As for the 2nd gen ports, that's good, this should free some spots in our Top 100. Btw did you sent some invitation to your thread?

Wow that's a great list. Here is my thought about your list :

Dragon Warrior II should be above Dragon Warrior

Final Fantasy should be above Dragon Warrior

I wouldnt put Duck Hunt that high

I would replace Tecmo Bowl by Tecmo Super Bowl

The best Mega Man imo is Mega Man III and it should be somewhere around #10 spot.

I personnaly wouldnt put Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout, Basewars and Captain Skyhawk on the list.

Kid Icarus and Metroid should be WAY higher than that.

And Super RC Pro AM is a GB game the NES versions are RC Pro AM and RC Pro AM II.

But overall that's a good list.

I think we should first have people list their top 3 or 5 games in order, that way we at least agree on the highest games.

That's a good idea. But I think we should list what we think deserve to be in the top 5 not our personnal top 5.

Well remember, its just my personal list of games I played and how I feel about them.  This thread is still about masschambers original list.  I will respond a little bit about your points though and how I made my selections just for the fun of it.

I put Dragon Warrior II below the original because I feel it has a LOT of flaws (that thankfully the remakes mostly fix).  The difficulty is through the roof, thanks to limited information given out by NPCs and very confusing location names.  And often times you have to find items in hidden places or with the silver/gold keys, but are never told.  You die a LOT because of the free roaming nature of the game and this limited information.  In short, the game is probably the hardest DQ I have ever played....especially when you finally get to the last area, geez.  Guys who can instant KO your whole party with one spell?  And there's THREE of them!?  In any event, that's why I put Dragon Warrior above it and near the top.  Its much better balanced and I feel one of the best games on the original NES.  A 'classic' if you will, like Zelda or Mario (though not quite that good).

Call me crazy, but I find Final Fantasy to have many flaws.  Probably should have put it higher, maybe at 54 or 55, but I still feel it wouldn't have been very high.

Duck Hunt probably would have been HIGHER, but I put it where it was because it was limited to being a 'Zapper' game.  But the Zapper games are very important, and Duck Hunt is definitely one of the best games on the NES.  I thought of just tagging it to Super Mario Bros.

Never played Super Tecmo Bowl, just the original.

My personal favorite Mega Man (and I mean ever) is Mega Man IV.  Mostly because of the enemies, but also because its the first time you get the stupid charge beam.  That's my reason for elevating it.

Kid Icarus and Metroid would have been higher...if they weren't so frustrating.  And this comes from a MASSIVE Metroid fan (favorite Nintendo franchise).
