Yeah that's probably true actually. I don't think a mario game with weapons would make for much of a good game.

There are two series that are RPG's centred around Mario, Paper Mario series and Mario & Luigi series. Neither of these are as such sequels though. For a real sequel they literally need Square Enix (Because I'm pretty sure SE holds joint copyright).

It will probably be Mario Kart Wii 2.
It's the real deal guys, Nintendo commented on it saying that they are always working on new titles but have nothing to announce right now. Otherwise they could have just said they don't comment on rumour and speculation or that the twitter account was fake. Also the twitter account seems very genuine as he was in Australia when he says he was etc.
