Wouldn't Killzone 3 totally destroy Resistance 3 in sales? I mean they'd have to be at least 3+ months apart I'd think for this not to happen.

Well Its what i think happened with the Killzone 2 and Resistance 2,  I think once some people saw it was coming out a few months later and with COD:WAW releasing at about the same time Resistance 2 suffered greatly for it.   It still sold well, but nothing even close to the first one.

Of coarse in the actual events. We'll hear the announcement of the game at E3 2010. Gamescom rolls around and Sony announces fall 2011 for the release. TGS 2010 there's nothing. GDC 2011 we see a short 2 to 3 minute "gameplay" trailer. Silence after that. E3 2011 happens, Killzone 3 is shown in trailer form, with a new release of coming soon. We start getting excited. Gamescom again rolls around same trailer for the previous E3 but with the 2011 removed. Fall ends and no Killzone 3. Sony says they are working to fine tune the game and move it out of the crowded holiday shopping season. TGS 2011 nothing. GDC 2012 we see another new 2 to 3 minute trailer showing off characters on Helgan. Spring ends with nothing. E3 2012 happens, Sony shows the game in gameplay form at the conference, but not on the show floor. Media gets a secret behind closed doors look at the game. Gamescom 2012 a slightly improved gameplay trailer for the game from E3. TGS same trailer. Still no release. World ends and we never get Killzone 3.

Before the world ends I will personally drive to Amsterdam and play whatever version of Killzone 3 they got ready :p

Good point. I think World at War really did a number on Resistance 2. Resistance: Fall of Man had virtually no competition and sold amazingly.

Seems odd to have it out so fast, but I suppose it could be an ODST-style "expansion", which would be very nice!

On the other hand, depending on the game itself, many of the assets could already be in place (just like the engine is), so who knows. Personally, I would prefer it to be an early 2011 release though.

I liked World at War (though i overplayed it and don't like it anymore) but i actually hope thats they try something new like the Korean or Vietnam war.
