Forums - Gaming - How many times have you beat your most replayed game?

O in terms of old nintendo classics (super mario, donkey kong,) least a 100 times O.o

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

^I know I have put around 400+ hours on each Pokemon game, but never replayed them.

Yeah, but I lived in China for a year, and all I had was my gameboy color, pokemon blue, pokemon yellow, Dragon Warrior Monsters, and donkey kong. For the. Entire. year.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

I've beaten SMB1 a couple hundred times. I should've been counting. I used to have a speedrun addiction and beat it 10 times a day for a couple months.

Outside of that... NES or Game Boy Tetris on B mode on level 9-5 to see all the homies, must've done that a few dozen times.

And I beat Electroplankton a million times.

Nethack: 2 or 3 times

It's an incredibly sophisticated, but old fashioned, dungeon crawler with randomly generated levels. This is a must play game for everyone who has a computer new enough to play it (i.e. just about any computer made in the last 20 years). I've only beaten it 2 or 3 times because it is the most brilliantly sadistic game ever made. I've come so close to getting the Amulet of Yendor so many times only to die in some gruesome fashion (killed by a mumak, drowned by a giant eel, turned to stone by a cockatrice, turned into slime by a green slime). Every death can be avoided if you're properly prepared and think out your actions, but even knowing how to escape from every hazard it's difficult not to make a mistake.

I never got into Nethack actually.  Which one should I download?  I played a lot of regular Hack back in the day, and now my favorite is ADoM.  Ancient Domains of Mystery.  I've been playing it off and on for over 10 years and I've never beaten it.  It's amazing.  And free.  And anybody who likes games at all should give it a whirl.
