Except the thing is, all the shit Activision is trying to pull with MW2 will ironically only encourage piracy.

Or are you just saying what you heard from people who heard from people that base their opinions on stereotypes in an attempt to gain more support for their system of choice?

 

Oh and FYI Crysis 2 is coming to consoles because Crytek wants to liscence out Cryengine 3 to console developers so they can make lots of cash, not because of piracy.

Well I signed the petition, but I don't take that whole thing so serious.

Preordered MW2 for £35 (PC version). That's cheaper than CoD4 here in Germany.

Don't be so sure that the pressure from PC gamers is meaningless. Remember what happened with Spore and other EA games? EA was forced to give up on online activations, and now they don't use it anymore. The backlash was too much.

Also, just for the lulz, MW2 is currently rated only one-star in amazon.com, with 42 reviews total: 41 of them rated 1 star!! lol

There was anger in another thread in the PC forum, but yea this is more of a console place. 

I don't like the idea of removing the dedicated servers.

For the paying of the map packs, it was free on PC because NVidia, Intel and some pro gaming teams payed IW or Treyarch so that it would be free for us. If it wasnt from that, we would never had any map packs.

Petition is now up to 59k a long way from the petition to name the Arabia Gulf the Persian Gulf which has over a million.

I think the problem I have is the lack of discussion with the PC community. The backlash from PC users will be big, will it be enough to cause a problem for Activision or Infinity Ward to back down, dunno.

This is a classic market relations disaster that could of been avoided if they had thought things through.

If they piss of enough people things could get dicey for them. Who knows, there's probably people over at 4chan who could hack into this IWNet thing just for the lulz and to tell them to go fuck themselves. Backlashs should be pretty big.
