That is some sad shit. Handhelds can't get any love. You'd think The World Ends With You and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl would make the list. Maybe even Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.

I was thinking about getting The World Ends With You sometime. I'm going to assume you really liked it?

I did. It's a very unique game. The fighting is done with the touchscreen, not menu based. You actually slash, tap or whatever to the stylus to get your different powers off. The artistic design is probably Nomura's best work (I'm not a big fan of his work usually). The story is definitely unique and is not your typical child with amnesia trying to save the world/universe from some demigod.

Considering how cheap you can find it usually, I would definitely consider the purchase. It's my favorite original PRG on the DS.

Its great but FF4 was much better imo!

Storywise it's great but I've begun to despise most of the traditional turnbased gameplay of older RPGs. I was actually referring to Disgaea with that last sentence.

its a sad day in the gaming world when ppl actually think oblivion is one the best RPG's when ive easily seen better on the PS2 *im looking at you Persona 4*

Folklore shouldn't be in this list IMO. Where's ToV? Mass Effect? Although, I agree that Oblivion is #1.

Age of Conan, White Knight Chronicles, Lost Odyssey .. That's a rather shitty list.

The fact that they needed to put in MMORPG and SRPGs to even round out the list just shows how sad the current enviroment is for RPGs.

I'm throwing them a bone with Conan, and giving them the benefit of the doubt, because I've never played it. I'd just as soon replace that with Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I don't know how anyone can put Oblivion in front of Fallout 3. Both are some of the best WRPGs ever made though.

Lots of oblivion love in this thread. Good, that game gets bashed so much.

@zenFolder

i agree with ur list a lot more. Except for Fallout 3 being number 1. Yeah as u can see im NOT a fan of Bethesda products for several reasons which i wont get into. But Personally id put Mass Effect at Number 1

I'm just wondering what are other games from different companies are like Oblivion and fallout and unlike Valkiria and FF

PS: Was FF7 like oblivionwhere you walk around and strike people

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!
