Forums - Sony - The vgchartz ranking game--LittleBigPlanet

@Reasonable

That's exactly my point. I gave GTA4 a 7, because, taking out personal preferences, the game felt a like a solid achievement and still symbolizes the spirit of a GTA game, even though it was a downgrade on the evolution of the series and had some technical issues.
I found it extremely boring and non-sensical at most times, but just because of that I won't be giving it any less than 7, it wouldn't be right for me to do so.

I believe that's the problem with the majority of gamers nowadays, they don't rate what they are given based on what the actual game really represents, instead they just give their own personal opinions like it's solid, unarguable facts.

@Kylie

What sort of facts can there possibly exist for LBP getting a 3 and Dead Space getting a 5? You know that for a game to have such faults to be actually ranked so low, the game has to be in the Big Rigs kind of quality in reality? I know that in your personal opinion the game must be like that, but if you objectively do a qualitative analysis, would you find those kind of issues with both LBP and Dead Space?

I love the RE series, RE 2 and RE 3 are amongst my favourite games of all time and RE 4 was one of the best i've played on the PS2. But RE5 was a letdown in all aspects to me, but the game does have some merits to it, when it comes to ranking it I shall be the most objective as I can be.

@nen-suer

As I said to Kylie, I love the RE series, especially RE2 and RE3, but mostly RE2, Leon's and Claire's stories are amongst the best in a survival horror game ;)

I agree with you, RE2 is my favorite and one of the best horror games i played

@Kylie

We were joking around, unlike you we wont vote games out of personal preference

well as much as I love RE2 (it was the first RE game I played), the crwon of the best survival horror game ever has to go to REmake on GC, and I'm going to rate RE5 on that basis .

@iBlah

RE remake on GC is very good indeed :) I love fighting the Crimson Zombies, those fights are amongst the biggest WTF moment on any video game xD

We were talking about KylieDog ;) He's been rating down almost every game on the Ranking game, that's why I asked about personal Vendetta issues.

Load of crap.  I've given some low scores but given high ones too, Fallout 3, Uncharted, Mario Galaxy.  Possibly Batman I cannot remember if I voted in that. Burnout Paradise would have been pretty high but I missed that vote.

I'd love to know how you argue a 3 for LBP.  The game is solid technically, has no bugs, flaws I've seen and it's pretty obvious the only real, genuine complaints are:

1 - the 3 plane handling can occasionally (like very rarely) be an issue

2 - the search facility could be better

3 - depending upon each players connection coop online can be laggy

At worst, being harsh on those you could say 7/10.  But the game's mechanics are solid as per design, as are levels, sound, etc.  The only way to score lower is personal bias as the game simply doesn't have flaws enough to merit anything less.

IMO the jumping mechanics were horrible and I can understand those who extremely dislike the whole physics engine in that game.

That's a huge contra for gameplay, so yeah I'd say it is possible to give it lower score than 7

Also there are not enough levels with a high niveau. Most of them are.... well generic (in gameplay; not in design)

lol, as said one of the best , RE was great but RE2 had the "lickers" and that damn tyrant who appear everytime when you  least expecting (and can open door knobs too XD )

But the scariest game to me was Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams

@Barozi

I was a part of the people who disliked the physics of the game, you can see it in my review. Yet that doesn't take for the overall achievement of the game, and the whole package is way more than just jumping around, so taking a lot of points just because of a particular issue isn't fair as well, especially one like this, because it's not like the physics engine is broken or glitchy, once again, it's just personal preference.

@Nen-suer

I loved SH2 too, Harry's psychotic sexual deviations is one of the best horror themes in a game xD. But to me, the best horror game is still Enemy Zero :D

Will the extra votes be added in the count for LBP? Weekend voting sucks :(

yep LBP is lucky here. I'd give the game a 4/10 if it weren't for the other stuff.

Below average platformer IMO

lol, best derailing ever, oh well, the voting is closed and we are just giving OP moneyz, so everyone is happy.

OT: Silent hill is the single biggest mind fuck I ever experienced, I remember during part of the game I had to obtain like 4 or 5 keys, then I opened this mega secured lock and I got myself a human hair, I had the longest WTF moment in my life lol.
a few scenes after that fucked up hospital I had to jump into my own grave then I saw all the hanged meat I was like" just give my heart a fucking breat!!" lol, I was totally expecting the meat start to move.
