Forums - Gaming - Do you miss console exclusive games?

I choose my systems based on Final Fantasy and Tekken.

Of course, I usually just buy them all.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

but why does 3rd party ps3 games sell better ?

Well, I think that is has to do with advertising and recognition. MGS4 and GTA are two examples of great ads, reviews, and recognition working in tandum to equal great sales.

no, i have a life and couldn't care less if there are exclusives for a certain console. As a smart consumer i read to check what games are coming out for each console and then i make a decision. This gen i made the right choice and i got a 360, which doesn't have many exclusives but it has almost all those blockbuster franchises that i liked on the PS2, except for MGS4.

No, dev costs are high so multiplats are reasonable. Still there are great exclusives on each.

Nope.

I think all systems should have the same amount of games with the exception of First party titles.

Overall companies in general make more going multi.

Needless to say I was celebrating when Devil May Cry, Tekken and Virtua Fighter hit the 360.

Some people might be annoyed that Star Ocean and Tales are hitting the PS3, but I'm glad we got the games while we had the chance. When it was PS2 versus XBox there was little to nothing in the way of JRPGs.

It's just that simple.

There's still a reasonable amount of exclusives. I'm not interested in games by virtue of them being exclusive or not.

What's far more worrisome than similar libraries are things like Day 1 DLC, overpriced DLC, content on the disc sold as DLC, and paid aesthetic content. There's ample evidence that some content is intentionally held back to be sold as downloadable content down the road. There's even paid unlocks for things that would have been cheat codes in any other generation. The move away from getting everything on the disc is concerning.

Still a game being exclusive on a certain system is the main reason to be interested in it. If all the games were on the PS3 and 360 I would go with the 360 just because of Live, but ultimately it would be a tough choice.

I don't own a PS3 because I don't have enough time for games for three consoles (I have over 110+ XBLA and 360 disc based games) but Demon Souls, MGS4 and Uncharted 1+2 are temptations to buy the system since they will most likely never hit the 360.

It's just that simple.

I'm going to have to agree with the other Wii owners. Out of my 37 retail games, 26 are exclusive.
