I was talking with the salesperson yesterday after I bought my pre-ordered copy, and during that time spent chatting four other people in line bought the game. Simply amazing game.

I predicted it way before the pre-order numbers began to increase due to reviews & marketing! The logic was sound at the time. |
Your logic was never sound because your comparing uncharted to two games whose original games were HEAVELY bundeled. Uncharted was at 1.97m sales on this site before any bundles were released.
@Solid Raiden
& I didn't expect any kind of increase over the previous iteration, hence my prediction of 1.9 million
@Leo-J
YES it was
but the marketing SUCKED
Uncharted 2 marketing RULES..
the sales are proof!
a good amount, was hoping for alot more. sorta disappointed, because its such a great game. the best ps3 game i have ever played or seen. hoping its sales rise or stay constant for a good while, because the game deserves to sell over 3 million in life time sales.
AE101 and bonkers555 completely derailed the first part of the thread. I'm a sad girl now.
On topic, I'm impressed and it looks like my 1.8m lifetime prediction was flushed down the toiled. Serve the crows.

Yea, but that's if you assume that all of the other copies were bundle copies alone. And that no one who got the game bundled with the system would be interested in the new one. Or that all the new additions such as multiplayer wouldn't attract new customers and people who liked the first but wouldn't buy it due to lack of replayability. Oh, and the game just came off of the heels of a ps3 price cut and is the first big game released since that time.
wait day one it sold 300k in the U.S, so im guessing it sold 400-500K in day one in others? and 50K in japan, so then.. 800-900K day one world wide? How does that translate to 1 million week one?

Bought the last game in stock today on EU release day. First time I have ever seen a game sold out first day in that shop. Even K2 had plenty in stock.

@leo-j
no
Day 1 = 300K in NA
Week = 450 - 550K
Week 1 in EU - 400 - 500K
we don't know Day 1 EU numbers!!!!
