Current gap is 6,3 million thanks to that amazing black friday. And with five weeks to go and counting in the FFXIII that gap is probably going to close to about 5 million.

Yeah 5 million is looking pretty likely at this point. Although it depends on how big of an impact FFXIII will have and if the current trend of 100k difference per week in others will persist.

Totally agree...I reckon the PS3 will sell around 1.3m more than the 360 over the next 5 weeks...so come early January, the gap will be 5m....and the PS3 will slowly chip away at that until GOW3, GT5 and FFXIII release in March/April...then the sale margins will be huge, at least for a short while.
Can actually see the difference being around 3.0-3.5m by April.
Prediction (June 12th 2017)
Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

Not too sure about that....I reckon the PS3 will be no more than 5m behind the 360 by the end of this year, and unless MS reduce the cost of the 360 in the first half of 2010, then I can see the gap getting smaller and smaller quite quickly. Don't forget that there is quite a few system sellers releasing on the PS3 in the next 4 months (FFXIII, GT5 & GOW3) and these should push up sales WW. It looks like MS is putting too much emphasis on Natal and what it may or may not do for sales of the 360, although we won't know exactly what it will do until it releases late next year, but as I've said before, I expect the PS3 total sales to be pretty close to the 360 by then.

With current sales trends then the PS3 isn't going to outsell the 360 till 2011 imo (even with the system sellers), assuming Microsoft do nothing next year. I'd say a year does count as a while but I can understand why you questioned my wording. I think Microsoft are putting more emphasis on making some money than gaining marketshare at the moment, given the current economic climate its obviously the best strategy for them.
I just opened up my browser and saw this article titled "five gifts you don't really want": http://customsites.yahoo.com/financiallyfit/finance/article-108318-3394-3-gifts-you-may-want-to-avoid-html?ywaad=ad0035
"The PS3's remote control is glued shut". I dare say this guy has never seen a PS3 controller apart from on television. And even if he has, I doubt he's experienced a dead one before. These things take years before giving out, and when they do, their battery packs are easily replaceable. He could have at least researched the product before reviewing it (or is there something else going on here that I'm not aware of... *hint MS *hint*).
Glue, he says...

Was that the right reply to this thread? Still, its a terrible article written by a moron lol.
I just felt the need to share
Anyway, the gap just decreased with 290 K consoles in favor of the PS3.
And the Op is gone...

You would do well to look up the definition of Minimal versus Minimum and Maximal versus Maximum. Big difference and the upper bound for the terms you used is far too low.
