1. NSMB Wii will not move hardware significantly , you can quote me now.

Ok, but you're wrong

Wii still had the best holiday season. ever.

Wii had a stronger lineup to this point last year, this year big Wii titles are just starting to come out

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

SO annoyed, after The Source and ioi saying Wii sales would be up, I did the prediction league, now I'm gonna be way off!

looks like ps3 sale will remain over 200 for a while.

after next week they should be up abit thanks of uncharted 2.
but then bump thanks to holidays.
in preparation to FF13 and that awesome Q1 line up

Week commencing

Oct 14th 2007: Wii 292,967
Oct 12th 2008: Wii 407,260

Next weeks sales will look even worse for the Wii, they will probably be not only lower than 2008, very possibly 2007 too.

OMFG!

I will be honest now, no NSMB Wii will make wii sell "higher" this year than last year.

It may have a better holiday, but a better year is out.

If we exclude Japan as the region because it doesn't sell games at all on both PS3 and X360, then things don't look so bad for X360.

So, Wii sales are not going to explod this christmas, 08 was indeed it's peak year. PS3 doing fantastic, beating most people's expectations, sony are going to have a rest easy christmas. 360 pretty low, to be expected though, good to see it ahead in America though.

shockingly yes

in fact this generation is so messed up

nothing is happening like it has in previous gens!

I've been saying a long time ago that a price drop was not the solution to Wii's slump, but everyone seemed to believe it would be the answer. Now that it's shown not to be the case, everyone is scratching their heads wondering why the price drop did little to help Wii's sales. It's SOFTWARE that drives a console's sales. Wii needs more and better SOFTWARE, period. NSMB Wii will definetly be enough to carry them through the holidays but starting early next year they need to roll out some big guns (Pikmin 3, Kirby, Star Fox, maybe a new ip, etc.) in order to keep the momentum going. Price drop do little to boost a console's sales signifianctly without games to go along with it.

Actually it could still explode at the holidays, since that's when its big hitters launch
