Even the anime fanboys cannot prove otherwise. Japanese developers (kojima) even said japanese devs were falling behind in innovation compared to the west. And it's true.

In terms of the wii market (or sub-current gen) the west is catching up, even though the japanese have a clear lead. Game party, ea fitness or whatever, and the rayman series are showing devs can create games for that audience. And the conduit.

however, thats besides the point. do you think gaming would be able to maintain it's userbase if all it's companies started focusing solely on "easy profit" genres like exercise? As much as I'd love to give nintendo credit for "innovation" , gaming would probably crash if we had nothing but the likes of wii sports and wii fit left to play. It's nice to be able to throw in the wii sports once in a while but if the likes of Halo were to disappear, many would probably lose interest in gaming completely

Lastly, sadly, the reason you stated is why I may never see another fire emblem (my own fav ninty franchise on wii). You gotta wonder whether nowadays, gamers care more about how much money their favorite companies make compared to whether they actually get games they'd love to play. I mean, some of you seem perfectly happy watching sales graphs instead of playing anything and I thought what brought us all here in the first place was our love for games. guess I was naive lol.

Western games are cool but I still prefer the Japanese style.

Super Mario Galaxy is for the record the highest rated game from this generation on Game FAQs to boot. Without those fancy schmancy HD graphics to boot.

Yes but not everyone can create a quality exercise game, which is why Nintendo dominates it almost completely

Depends, if the gamers lost outnumbered the gamers gained then I'd agree, but for too long, the industry has been chasing a small group and ignoring the much larger group, not to mention, even the halo gamers enjoy playing Wii games from time to time, so Nintendo still gets them as well.

Japanese games never fall just stay same as last gen. Western games is better than last gen but still behind Japan in terms of quality and sales. The reason this happen becuase Japan market is not growing while Western had grown a lot. At least Japanese sales still sell a lot in West while Western games did not sell in Japan.

This is the biggest problem I have with VGC. We have a sales forum to talk about Sales. This topic is in the gaming forum, and therefore should be about the game rather than the sales of the aforementioned title.
