naznatips said: If you think consoles don't have the same crashing, freezing, and technical issues as PC you really haven't played many console games this gen. Especially HD ones. Hell, Star Ocean 4 crashes, freezes, slows down, AND has screen tearing all in one freaking game. I've never come across a PC game that had all those issues built into the software.
It used to be the case, that console games were more likely to not have these issues. That's not the case now. If anything it's more likely. They also have all the other classic hangups of PC gaming anymore. Installation, hard drive limitations, incompatibility between platform models, etc.
These days with conveniences like Steam if you have a PC that can handle the games you're in for much less stress than you are on consoles. |
Where did I say that? I was mentioning that in a console, you don't have to locate the problem to get it to work. Also you are discussing issues HD Consoles have. We are talking about the Wii. I have yet to find many Wii games that have what you describe. Even the low-budgeted games seem to be reliable to the point where the worst you get is a glitch. We are discussing two very different things. Console games usually work from the get go. PC games, not always. I remember having troubles with Bioshock's sound not working from the get-go. It wasn't because Bioshock was poorly coded, it was because I had a certain setting enabled that I had to disable. In a console you don't have to worry about that. If a game has a problem it is because of the game's coding, not because you have a confliction. Btw I'm mainly take pride in Handheld gaming, THEN PC gaming, and FINALLY Console gaming, just so you see where my bias is coming from. I find the HD Consoles to be poor replicates of PC gaming, and really only have them for wanted exclusives such as a few JRPGs, and 1st party games. I do not like what they are doing with the HD Consoles as much as you, but it doesn't make my point moot. With PC you need a learning curve to get things to work. Steam helps a little, but it isn't full proof yet.
Edit: I think you are bringing the discussion out of context. Can we keep things relevant to the discussion at hand. This is even if it is off topic from the start.
