Manslaughter isn't only aciddently killing someone. There's a few different cases of manslaughter charges, but mainly it's killing without the forethought to kill. Accidently killing someone would be like if someone walked into a knife you happen to be holding. This was one of two things. This was either manslaughter because the person was not in a right state of mind because of a sudden change in mood, and/or manslaughter because he had no forethought to kill this girl as he's never met her and just wanted to stab something.
