Nintendo and Microsoft won't take that easy. What Sony needs to do for Gen 8 (Are we saying Gen 8 now instead of Next Gen? I'm cool with that) They need to make sure consumers have the option of B OTH standard and Motion control. Dual Shock IV and PS Sphere in one box? And they need to make sure they have a line up to die for.

Get Naughty Dog to make an Uncharted 3/Jak IV/New IP, Insomniac to make a Ratchet/Resistance/New IP , possibly Gran Turismo 6/7, And a JRPG for launch they need a line up to get ahead.

The production costs of the PS3 are high because of the Blu-Ray drive and the Cell, and considering that Blu-Ray will be a lot cheaper (and with more layers) and the Cell will be a known CPU, there's no excuse for Sony to make a cheap machine with ease of development, all they need is a Cell upgrade (more PPEs and SPEs), a better Video Card, lots of more RAM and a faster Blu-Ray drive with a firmware that can handle more layers... That machine can be built and sold at 300-400 with even profits (or a really small loss with better margin for software gain)...

PS1 launched at $300

PS2 launched at $300

PS3 launched at $600.

PS4 should, then, launch at $300.

PS4 will probably launch at $400 or so, depends on how much it costs Sony to build them

I hope they keep on being Sony. It would kill me to see them put out such a cheap product when they have built a name on top end devices. What Sony has to do with PS4 is make it so incredible that it is life changing to own it. They need features that are simply imposible for the other companies to match. Price is a non issue, and I am sick of reading about lack of money.

I can not even begin to understand the concept of something costing to much money. It takes so little effort to make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Just step up to the plate people. Use the imagination you bitch that developers are lacking. Have some self respect. Just open your mind, and you will see oppertunity is everywhere, take advantage of it.
