Forums - PC - Graphics Crown still Crysis ?

Well, maybe next-gen. But one thing that makes me the most angry about CryEngine is the focus on jungles scenarios, i mean, imagine such a beautiful magic world that could be done with this engine but it just won't be done because Crytek don't make this kind of game.

Anyway, Crysis was the game that defined this gen of Video Cards for gaming, it like initiated a new generation for pc gaming. When the configurations were announced i remember people saying pretty few computer were able to run at medium, and high settings were possible just with a high-end pc like alienware. Nowadays you can build a pc with 1000 dollars to run it at maximum.

Doom 3 was something like that at it's times, but nowadays any onboard video card can run it at maximum. Just wait til the game that will define the new generation of video cards and pc gaming, probably Crysis 2.

on High yes but on highest ?

The good thing is they want to sell the Engine to many developers so maybe it will be so successful like the UE3 Engine and we will see loads of games in that Graphic. I am really looking forward to Crysis 2

This game beats Crysis :P

What game is that? Anyway, Doom 4 will look better than Crysis 2, being the fact that it will be using Unreal Engine 4. They even said it will be too powerful to use on current consoles.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

Those Pics are amazing name of the game ?

Doom 4 is using the same Engine as Rage it will look better more detailled then Rage. But Rage will come to PS3/360 so the Engine is not to powerful for Consoles. But the footage I have seen from Rage could beat Crysis not in all matters but in most. If Doom 4 looks a good bit better maybe we have a Candidate which takes the role of Crysis. But Crysis 2 could do it. its hard to judge with just some pics. But i doubt that even Crysis 2 will be a jump like Crysis 1 was. Doom 4 still no footage and there is a possibility that Doom 4 comes to Consoles aswell as the Engine will run on them. Maybe a cutted down Version ?

Crisis is the ultimate proof that high profile big budget PC exclusives are a dying breed.

Really, there aren't any games today that you can fully take advantage of if you have a maxed out high-end PC, unless you play with special solutions like Nvidia 3-D tech or huge monitors.

Except Half-Life 2 came out around the same time (a litle after if I remember right) and looked superior, especially in the animation department and worked on a PC with much lower specs. Then of course there is Cryteks own Far Cry which on the Highest settings back then still looks comparable to many current gen console shooters. IMO iD haven't made decent industry defining tech/engine for a long while now. Rage looks like it could change that, but Epic, Crytek and to a lesser extent Valve have been pushing PC tech more than iD have in a long while.

well call me wrong if, but these pics are probably from operation flashpoint dragon rising.

but all he does is post 3 pics ofthe best scenes in the game, summarized as a whole, OP : DR has unfortunately little chance vs crysis.

topic : crysis is still the game with the best graphics, unfortunately ( didnt like the game AT ALL ) . console llimitations have been blocking process for years now, so i have high hopes in the new ID engine.
PC needs to get independent again, so we have more games like that.

pro PC exclusives !!!! support id !!

How can 720p be considered HD when it looks like ugly snow grains on my 22'' screen?

I haven't seen anything that is pushing Crytek's crown of best graphics (technically speaking) this gen. Crysis 2 looks to improve on what they've had so far. I doubt the console version will look much better than medium, possibly pushing on High in some departments.

They've made an incredible engine. Then theres the fact that you can make a PC version, and as you're making it, the console versions will be updated with the changes you make in real-time. No more crappy ports! I really hope a lot of developers make use of CryEngine 3 as it'll really push developers (mainly Epic) to make better 3D engines and really push and optimise the consoles.

Crysis is king of graphics yes, On consoles its  Uncharted 2.
