Also, the Ace Attorney-series isn't an RPG series but it's fantastic and you should get it.

I'm not sure what genre these are, but there all fantastic games. I really enjoyed Viva Pinata and both Trauma Center games for the DS. I also like Pokemon Ranger a lot.

If you are into RPG, check out Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series and their spin-offs, also The World Ends With You and Chrono Trigger are must have titles. If you like strategy / tactic rpg's take a look at Advance Wars series and Fire Emblem. If you are by any chance to adventures, Phoenix Wright serie is a stunning piece of work and great fun for long hours. But it's a bit of a brain teaser.
