Don't count Nintendo out yet, I think they really have a chance to change their reputation with some key games.

When a company fails like Nintendo did with the Gamecube and Nintendo 64, then I fail to see why they deserve to be on top. If they had pushed Sony out of the market as early as they wanted, then the entire gaming landscape would be different and for the worse. So they take a gamecube and slap it together with two motion controls and I'm supposed to worship the ground they walk on? I haven't even wanted to play a Wii GAME (I say game because Wii fit and Wii sports are not games in the pure sense, ala Mario), since 2007.

I'm sorry but I sympathize with the OP more than they probably even intended.

Nintendo outsmarted the competition, deal with it.

I can always expect some overly defensive comment out of you. Fact of the matter is, they outsmarted themselves because even though their install base has increased 68%, SMG, which is a far superior game, has only increased in sales by 29%.

They haven't taken any customers from the competition. Maybe 1-2M people, but it's debateable.

Their market is different. They didn't outsmart any competition, they expanded the market. The competition isn't feeling any increased pressure except from their own individual hurdles, which the Nintendo system has helped to highlight.... but Nintendo isn't laying the smack down on the other consoles. In terms of sales comparisons, they are laying the smack down.

But I agree that Nintendo is the best, and anyone who doesn't think so is a retard.

You know what? Normally I would defend Nintendo, but knowing what they are capable of, one should expect near perfection from them right. Yes, but look at it this way. Nintendo has expanded the casual audience immensely and has also increased the number of 'hardcore' compared to the Gamecube era. (I don't know a synonym for hardcore sorry.) Nintendo didn't make too much money from the Gamecube, yet they were still brave enough to give us this radically different console in the form of Wii. You can't get it perfect on your first try that is why the Wii is not perfect. But, now that Nintendo has motion controls down, they can perfect it for next gen, and then thrash the competition all they like.

I believe Natal will fain. M$ already said your gonna have to 'pay up' if you want it.
I believe Sony Motion Wiimote Whatchamacallit will fail. It's too far into this generation, not too many will be interested.
