Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is again at the top.

it seems that the 15 minutes of fame of ps3 is over but it still have good sales but the wii overtake in sales the ps3 again and the xbox fell way behind of its competitors ( project natal is they only hope), the new psp didn't have a affect on the ds even though sales rise.

What is important for Wii is to reagin the lead in Japan...after a price cut and some bundles Wii needs to start selling more in Japan, after all is the only country in which it has more than 60% marketshare! Next week we'll know if there are some chances for a Wii return to last year's levels...

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

The HD twins still on top?

I don't necessarily see it returning to those levels this year, but I do think the sales will increase gradually.

Beep, "HD twins" consist of two competing consoles.

While I like Nintendo and wants them to be on top, I would say that Sony still has a chance to take the lead. (Lead as in topping weekly charts)

I'm more worried about 360.

The Wii is on top because of the price cut. Without it, I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 continued to beat it until December.

We'll see what sales are next week.

And? The PS3 was on the top because of the Slim. What does that matter? Both consoles will probably drop next week.  Despite what many think, the PS3 isn't going to stay this high forever. Neither will the Wii, but there is a better chance for the Wii seeing that it already has the benefit this generation as a whole and the holiday season. Like you said though, we have to wait and see. I don't think we will have to only wait until next week though, we have to look towards the next month or so to see how they are holding up.

PS3's price drop got it 550k sales, the Wii's price drop only 340k. I'd say PS3 is on top, although not this week.

Actually, it was the Slim redesign that probably had the most effect, not the pricecut.

The PS3 was on top for 4 weeks because of the Slim. It hit 550k, then stabilised at ~230k, after selling in the realm of 90k a week. Let's see if the Wii price cut can have that much impact.
