well ive never played baseball and only a few times basketball. If they mean english football, then of course its better to play with your mates, its pretty sad if youd rather play a video game than go outdoors and socialise...

| Jumpin said: Do you mean real Football or American football? Baseball is like golf, it isn't a real sport, maybe replace that with hockey or rugby. |

I would rather play real sports, but honestly i'm lazy and can't see myself going to actually play them.
Also to the OP? Big 3? American Football, Basket Ball and Baseball are not as hugely popular outside North America. Soccer/football is by far the most popular sport. Hockey is probably also ranked world top 3 since they do have world league Hockey.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
I think of the big four as being football, rugby, cricket and tennis.... but I'm from the UK. I'd rather play Mario Tennis any day

According to wiki-answers, paintball and bowling are the biggest played sports.
But in terms of overall attention and money involved, football (soccer for the US) is definatly king. After that it's a match-up between Tennis, Cricket, Volleybal and overall martial-arts and mixed-fighting sports I believe,

I can't really speak to those big three because they aren't the big three where i live but my answer would be it depends on the sport.
If it's a sport that i can play or have the opportunity to play in real life, then real life of course. There are plenty of sports that I will never realistically have the chance to play for real so the game version will have to do.
its the reason I don't buy Fifa or other sport franchises, I can do it in real life..
Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 and many other great games will let me do things I can't do in real life, with the big money games costs nowadays I can't buy everything let alone pay for a downgraded version of something I can do for free in real life
Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous
Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5, Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.
I would much rather play the big 3 in real life.
These are:
Football
Cricket
Rugby
Don't no where you got your unpopular sports from......

Real life easily. The problem with really playing those sports you just named is that you have to coordinate with people. Basketball you can probably just go to the gym and find a pick up game. But baseball is probably the hardest to get a game together outside of a league. Football you can play with less than a full team, but you still have to get the people together.
