Without trying to sound like I'm looking to get a quote on the back of the box, the impending release of Half-Minute Hero is currently at the top of the list of reasons why it's a great time to be a PSP owner. Sure, the PSPgo is here and Sony's got some big first party stuff coming soon in Jak and Daxter, SOCOM, and LittleBigPlanet, but Half-Minute Hero is just days away, cheap, funny, built for short play sessions, and clever as all hell.

In short, thank you for reading this review. Buy this game.

 

Closing Comments
If you like RPGs, Half-Minute Hero is a refreshing take that mixes in all the quirks the genre is known for, and if you've never been into RPGs, it's light enough for any noob to get behind and enjoy; plus, there are a bunch of other gameplay types to get behind the controls of. I think there's a stumble here in presentation and there in clarity, but none of that detracts from making this a great portable game that PSP owners should seriously give a shot.

8.5 Presentation
The parody of an RPG is great and the jump to the 8-bit style is awesome. The connection between the tales could be stronger in the beginning and the menus could be better.
8.5 Graphics
The parity between the drawn scenes and the blocky 8-bit stuff is great. The drawings can be weak, though.
9.0 Sound
The music is outstanding. Play this game with headphones to set the mood. Outside of that, the sound effects are good and there are no voices, but they're not really needed.
8.5 Gameplay
The Hero stuff is awesome, the Princess is fun but short, the Knight is simple, and the Evil Lord is a bit of a drag. Still, the Hero section is the main stuff, and that is great.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
You're looking at 120 quests, but more stuff opens after that. You could go back and play on tougher difficulty, but once you know what to do in a level, the challenge is kind of gone.

I nearly feinted reading this review...RIDING AND USING A DRAGON TO HELP U FIGHT...that is badass and Multi Player sounds incredible fun

finally, a good psp game this year.

That's what i've heard... But it's still miles ahead of the other games on the psp so far this year.

That could change when assassins creed comes out though.

Because according to IGN there have been like 8 games better than this so far this year.
