Forums - Gaming - The Review System is Broken!!

I'm not sure whether to take this seriously or not, but yes, the review system is broken.

The best thing you can do is find a single source or person whose taste falls in line with your own and forget Metacritic, Gamerankings and the rest.

Lol, I wondered why would Monty make a thread like this one, lol.

He's probably writing in response to the Game Trailers 'Invisible Walls' episode where they a PS3 advocate and a reviewer argue over review  scores for the game and how it was inconsistant with its predecessor. What it came down to was the PS3 advocates taste for high quality games despite lack of originality and the Game Trailers review system which scores extra high for originality and offerings. They ended up coming to a conclusion, which is that PS3 fanatics (all gaming fanatics really, but primary PS3 fans) tend to worry too much about review scores when they are on average extremely high on par with editors choice from Gamespot.

so the review system is broken because Uncharted 2 got "ONLY" 9.3 out of 10 even though it's basically more of the same Gears of War/Tomb Raider mixed copy? HUH???

some overreaction, isn't it.

Um...you do realize this is megaman.2, right? Not MontanaHatchet?

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

No no, it's just that this isn't Monty :P

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Lol. You got the wrong reason for the reveiw system being broken. I do beleive it's broken, sure, but not because two websites gave a few 7s and GT gave one score 0.25 lower than the average. (game rankings)

I blame Wii Fit...+!!!

Why would numerical values attached to the end of a subjective analysis of different videogames be consistent?

Uhh I thought GTA4 was significantly better then San Andreas. It's more polished, More interesting, and has online multiplayer. The combat is better. The graphics are waaay better and the game is just overall better. GTA 4 is a huge evolution from San andreas compared to what San Andreas was to Vice city.

You just made my day. I didn't think anyone on the entire internet agreed with me on this :)
