It's possible, unlike American companies (or American branches of Japanese companies) the parties involved are more likely to let others use similar ideas without suing the hell out of them.

On a side note From Software has really impressed me this generation, I really enjoyed Ninja Blade (one of the few games I say don't listen to reviews cause they're simply wrong, its not Ninja Gaiden light its God of Wa.. I mean Ninja) I played Demon Souls yesterday and it was brutal, hard, pissed me off, and I loved it the first really hard action rpg I've played this gen.  And now 3D Dot Game Heroes could be just as awesome.

I also agree with you on Ninja Blade. I loved that game.

Yeah it didn't have much in the way of replay value, but it was great for a rental and one-time playthrough. I actually really enjoyed the QTE segments.

From Software have really impressed me too.

They also developed a 360 game with a very good online component called ChromeHounds.

It was slaughtered in reviews, but there are excellent things said about the multiplayer and supposedly it has a sort of cult following.

My store still has a new copy of that game, I didn't play it though, but now that I have a 360 I can check it out possibly. 

I forgot to mention From Software made the new Tenchu on PSP and Wii, really hard stealth action game, and I really suck at stealth games but it was very solid.  I would have probably loved it if I didn't suck horribly at it (stealth games just aren't my thing).

They made Chromehounds? I loved that game. This is my most anticipated game of next year. Euphoria better hope that it has an American release. Or there will be trouble

Second, XSEED wouldn't return comment about possibly bringing it here. They just released a flyer for a game testing position for a new PS3 game. Odds are that this game is either Wizardry or 3D Dot Game Heroes.

If you are going to play ChromeHounds makes sure you have LIVE. The single player gets rather dull quickly, the online is where the game really shines. It has many possibilities, especially when it comes to customization.
