His name was Jumpman in 1981 and was a carpenter, he started working with his brother in 1983 :P

Plus we all know about Zelda.

We all know about Mario with a pi... err... Spelunker.

Now try to stop, think for a moment and try to find what other games this parodies instead of just assuming it is Zelda and Zelda alone.

^ yea thats where i am at..everytime theres thread about this game we have group of ppl who cant help but talk about ZELDA, this a homage to this style of game.

As for other references the king in 3D Dot heroes I believe is based off the king in the original Final Fantasy.
