The 360 is not dead last, the PStwo is dead last..

I wouldn't say never, but Sony took a drastic step...as there's no way it cost effective to launch a REDESIGNED console for $100 less, but with that said...the PS3 is enoying some early success, but let's wait until the Holiday season is over...I suspect M$ has a few tricks left, as they have become very good at bouncing back...I remember 2 years ago...and all the talk about how PS3 was going to dominate...and 2 years later, it's was in a deeper hole, with this Hail Mary pass as it's only chance. Sure, sony scored on it, but they were down by +2 TDs, so it's not like they won yet.

How is Halo "proven to not sell systems anymore"?? ODST didn't sell systems, (but it still sold 2.5 million copies).

ODST is just a expansion (though I like the game) on the Halo 3 engine. It's nothing like a REAL halo title.

Real full on Halo's come every 3 years. 2001, 2004, 2007, and now in 2010, Reach.

What you fail to mention is that Sony already price cut. MS did not (not really). So the next price cut is a lot more logically likely to come from MS than Sony. It's quite possible, even likely, that in 2010 360 will recieve a price drop, but PS3 will not.

Also, I think, and most unbiased observers agree, MS lineup in fall 010 looks better than Sony. Reach, Natal, Fable 3, and possibly Gears 3. Whereas Sony has pretty much shipped all their big franchises after God of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5 ship. I dont know what Sony has lined up for fall 2010. I'm guessing maybe Resistance 3? Nothing huge.

Too bad you mean sales, because under any other criterion I would say the Playstation 3 has already won. Unfortunate.

Actually, PS3 Slim sales are quite disappointing if Pachters NPD predictions are correct. After so much hype it will barely top the 360. Thats with free Blu Ray, free wi-fi, and free online compared to 360, and no RROD. What else could Sony do?

And that's Slim's first month. It can only fall from here most likely. Will it even win October? November? December? I'll bet that it wont.

And I'll tell you another thing, Microsoft is gradually training people that 360 should cost the same as PS3. PS3 and 360 with 120GB hard drive cost exactly the same. Yet 360 is not drowning. I mean to me, that's amazing. 360 is supposed to cost way less than PS3 in order to sell. Soon people will just expect that 360 and PS3 are the same price, and 360 will still win.

From the 28th of September to the 27th of December, 2008, the PS3 and 360 sold the following amounts:

PS3 need to outsell x360 by 2 mln. this year and next year during last 3 months.

And for the rest of year to sell around 60-70k more, than x360. This, with help of GT5 i see possible.

But anyway, does it still matter? Yes, it will happen eventually.
