Forums - Nintendo - Capcom still giving Nintendo the crumbs...

I think the longer we DON'T here anything about RE5, the better the chance it shows up on the Wii. Think about how many Wii owners there will be at the end of 2008 and into 2009.

If RE5 isn't mentioned now, it won't be available before the end of 2008. The longer it goes, the larger the gap between the Wii and the other consoles.

Oh shoot, I was hoping that Dark Void comes to the Wii... The game sounds pretty interesting.

Anyways, as many pointed out, the other games are not PS3 exclusive but HD multiplat. If you do the maths, that is still a bigger userbase than the Wii has and it is even more interesting with X360 attach rate, so I completely understand Capcoms logic although I would have hoped to get more games from them.

In the near future, important Wii exclusives will probably all be Japan-focused games because that is the place were the difference in install base is huge.

However, since I prefer the Japan-focused games I'm fine with that, although it means that I still will miss some interesting games every now and then.

First it was, "I love Capcom for giving me PS2 ports!"

Now you hate it?

Make up your mind!
I never said I loved capcom for PS2 ports, in fact in the okami thread i complained about getting more PS2 ports. Okami is cool and all, but give us more original stuff. I have made up my mind, PS2 ports:no. Original games that take advantage of what the wii is capable of:Yes.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

RE5 is confirmed for 2009.

Anyways, it seems that XBLA/PSN is getting a lot of love, actually. Talisman, Street Fighter HD, Commando 3... Hopefully WiiWare will start getting the same love...

Bionic Commando, Dark Void... Rocketman? Compared to Monster Hunter 3, these titles are the crumbs... Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't consider any of those titles exactly leaps and bounds above RE:UC, Zack and Wiki or We Love Golf... They're all sort of second-tier titles for Capcom... Given that they're from Capcom, I'm sure they'll be worth checking out, though...

But the big ones are still DMC, RE, MH, SF to some extent, and Onimusha when they get around to it... And the only one of those to change status recently is MH.

Capcom is hedging their bets with the XBox 360 and PS3 by released EVERY game on both systems with quite a few hitting the PC. It seems that Capcom has enough faith in the Wii to release their Wii games as exclusives (when they could have released many as PS2/PSP games).

Over the next several months I would expect to see a similar trend of Wii games being exclusive while more and more PS3/XBox 360 games are fully multiplatform; at the same time I would expect them to slowly announce more Wii games than PS3/XBox 360/PC multiplatform games (although that will be a slow and steady improvement).

I really feel that many developers will go this route this generation. Some big new prestige titles taht are dumped to PC/PS3/360 to recoup costs, and then quirkry/family/other games to take advantage of the big Wii user base.

The main differnce is the development time. We'll be talking about these same 360/Ps3 games from Capcom all year. Meanwhile we will see all 4 or at least 3 of those 4 Wii games come out in the next 5 months, those teams will get moved to new Wii projects and we will get 4 more Wii titles from Capcom Q4 2008 - Q1 2009. (Maybe I am a little overly optimistic, but the upside to smaller games is they can make mroe of them)

How can you say that? Capcom brings MONSTER HUNTER 3, one of its biggest franchises, really hardcore, from PS3 to Wii. Okami, also quite hardcore, comes to Wii and all reports I read say that this game was meant for it (OK its a port, SO WHAT, it's a great game that has the ability to sell good and expand the games library). If SFIV goes to 360/PS3 that's Ok, those consoles together have a bigger install base than Wii at the moment and 360 is selling games. Of course developers will develop games for these consoles. If anyone should be complaining it's SONY, because they don't get exclusives anymore and can never beat 360 that way.

Don't forget Cube was very bad for 3rd parties, so don't blame them for waiting on what would happen. Now it is clear that the Wii is a hit more and more games should come, and we see it happening, so please be a little patient. It hasn't been like this since SNES days for Nintendo.

Announced exclusive 3rd party games: Tales of Symphonia2, Monster Hunter 3, Final Fantasy CC:CB, NiGHTS,  Zack & Wiki, RE:UC, Worms, Fatal Frame 4, Project O...etc.. and that's all within a year, after the (3rd party) failure of GameCube. I'm a Nintendo fan since NES and am really glad with the current turnaround. Be a little patient, and accept that the other consoles exist and will see great games that are not coming to Nintendo. That's a small price to pay for the decision to make Wii not powerfull but innovative. (And you can always go Wii60/PSWii).

They'd better put SFIV on the Wii too. It would be stupid not to.
Then, they can also make a PS3 version. Street Fighter will cater to the japanese market.
They can even make a X360 version, as even though the X360 demographic don't like typical japanese anime style games, with the big install base in the USA, they can sell decent numbers in the USA.
The problem is that the X360 controller is very bad for this kind of games.

Anyway, given their Japan install base, at least a Wii version should be made, and probably a PS3 one too.

Dare I say it. If you want to play these games buy either a 360 or ps3. The only one I'd like to play from the wii list is resident evil: umbrella chronicles but then again re5 is coming to ps3/360?

Street Fighter 4 could pull a Soul Calibur 2... 3 versions with exclusive characters in each... That could be lame, though, too...

The reason PS3/360 but not Wii is likely is because it may be first and foremost an arcade game... PS3 and 360 versions would be ports, but a Wii version could really be a drastic downport... But if it's primarily a console game, there's no reason they couldn't do concurrent development of both a PS3/360 and Wii version... It's a question of how they approach development, but I'm not holding my breath for a Wii version, honestly...

Doesn't look like crumbs to me at all. Umbrella Chronicles seems to be a solid game, albeit a spinoff, and Zack and Wiki is a very bold move to resurrect and all but dead genre. RE4:Wii has already sold more than twice what Capcom expected it would, and if RE:UC and Z&W do well, I can't imagine them not shifting more resources for the Wii.

Aren't a lot of the 360/PS3 games downloadable btw? I imagine the Wii will start getting a lot more titles from big developers when the Wii Ware service gets going.

I would put serious money against Resident Evil 5 being on the Wii.

Me too honestly but there is the RE5 for Wii petition that has allegedly gotten Capcom's attention.
