What the hell does Fox News Network have to do with this Brownback guy? Just because he is right wing does not automatically mean they support what he says.

Maybe you should actually WATCH fox news sometime to see what it really is - it may be right-biased somewhat (no more than most other media outlets are left biased), but it is not "teh evil".


Actually, the stated goals of many Cristian conservative groups include taking away such freedoms as the ability to get an abortion, and all kinds of gay rights, and they want to make America into a theocracy.  (Government + religion = theocracy, deny it if you can.  And theocracies inevitably discriminate in favor of their own religion and against others.)  And that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. 

Fox news is all about helping the Republicans rule with an iron fist.  Most of the major news organizations are not left-biased but range from slightly left of center to somewhat right of center.  They just look liberal put next to Fox News.  When the New York Times looks liberal in comparison to you, you're way the hell over to the right. 

That said, it's true that Brownback is not the object of any particular affection of Fox News.  But who ever said he was?  This site (in all likelihood a parody) merely posted their news reports.  (Hint:  not the OP, as he said "air", not "post" or "publish" or "print".)

Tolerant in some ways, but not in others.  Blood and gore is tolerated quite a bit, as you point out.  Sex is less tolerated in entertainment (it gets a higher rating more easily).  Homosexuality is much more restricted, although a lot of this is self-censorship by networks and moviemakers terrified of Bible-thumpers' wrath (and rightfully so).  Anyway, this is all in entertainment not the press. 

I don't think that the government censors much of anything directly, but there has been a great deal of fearmongering by the current administration and various right-wing pundits about how criticizing Bush's policies, people, or ANYTHING is tantamount to giving aid and comfort to the enemy.  Journalism is also sometimes hampered by (for instance) a newspaper's corporate owner discouraging an expose on someone who gives other parts of that corporation a lot of business.  I see this as a major danger of media being owned by a very few, extremely large corporations that have a lot of hands in a lot of industry pies; or of one corporation owning a great deal of the media.  (Clear Channel Communications owns an alarming percentage of radio channels in the USA.) 

I wish we had another Teddy Roosevelt -- this country is in dire need of some strong environmentalism and trustbusting.

Pictochat is a LAUGH.

 

It, seriously, only works less then 100 feet UNLESS you're in an extremely open area. (Like a mall, where it may work for like 300 feet) If your kid is being pictochatted, that pedofile is already way too close.

Fox News sells ratings on fear. This is nothing new, in fact I don't think a day goes by when fox isn't in an uproar about something sexual. OMG a judge only gave this guy 10 years call your senator.
