Forums - Sony - EEDAR, Pachter: PS3 No. 1 Console in USA in September

@bonkers555, I agree with PS3 not able to catch 360 in NA, but you do realize the 360 had a price reduction as well (Elite to $299 plus $50 rebate), and ODST (biggest Fall exclusive?) in September. What was the biggest exclusive for PS3 exclusive in September? (I can't remember any)

i think he is right the slim is killing the 360 :)

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

If the Slim only outsold the 360 by about 50-60k ... that's really not a lot.

Sony will never catch MS in North America at that rate, I agree with the poster above (or even come close).

yea its virtually impossible to catch up in NA. Its all about Europe now!

The problem with this logic is that you are assuming sales won't fluctuate. This is the same poor logic people used to say the Ps3 will never catch the 360 WW right before the Ps3 got to the 5 million mark. It's the same poor logic people used a few weeks ago saying it'll take years for the Ps3 to catch the 360 with 360 being 8.5 million ahead... now it's 7.5 million ahead.

But I agree it won't catch it. But not by using your logic.

There's no gauruntee those flucations would be in Sony's favor either.

Anyways I think Microsoft largely has gotten what they wanted when the entered the game biz -- Sony snugly beaten down to third place in North America at least and of no threat to Microsoft's broader media/living room hub aspirations. Too bad they should've been paying attention to Apple, not Sony.

Exactly. Thats why it went 5million to 8.5 million.

@ioi: I was just stating the obvious. If i were to make predictions about NPD numbers a week before their release, i'd be lurking my numbers here.
