Forums - Gaming - Wii or PSP GO?

I thought about the Wii, but many people who I know that own the Wii rarely play it. Might just be the people that I know. Hum, guess that I'll probly buy the 3000. Tough call. Thanks for the help.

I got a Wii recently in August, still havent played on it as much as my PS3.  It is a good system dont get me wrong, just depends on your game taste and preferences thats all.  Which of the 2 would be more beneficial to you is the question.

If you already have a PS3 and 360, you really don't need another console as you have plenty to keep you busy at home (even if there may be one or two games worth playing).

As long as you have the intention of actually playing the PSP on the go and not just while laying on your bed, I'd pick up one of those over another console. I think the PSP1000-3000 is ass-ugly and I'd never be seen in public with one, but the Go is a sexy modern little piece of tech and since you don't have an existing catalogue of UMD's to worry about I'd opt for one of those (if you can afford it).

It's all about the game.

If you're going with PSP's I'd go with the 3000 ....

- Bigger screen
- Cheaper
- Uses cheaper memory cards (the GO can only use Micro cards)
- More comfortable to hold

Unless you're planning to really use the PSP as your MP3 player/iPod replacement ... then get the GO, but be ready to put down an additional $70 for the extra 16GB memory stick.

You're likely to look like a dork either way playing a handheld in public (lol), though the PSP Go is a bit more discreet in that regard.

PSP.

If you like Wii Fit, and can't live without Mario and Zelda, you'll have to buy a Wii.

Otherwise, buy a PSP Go, and buy a TV cable for it. Then buy a PS3 controller.

Now you've got a great portable gaming system, that doubles as a home console. And frankly, the PSP has a better games selection than the Wii, in my book.. a lot better. The downloadable store is slated to increase tremendously in size, as well (currently I'm counting about 260 games for the PSP Go on the PSN store, but at TGS Sony said there would be... 400 by November? 700 the month after? I forget the dates).

The PSP-3000 doesn't have bluetooth support, so you have to hold it, and use *it* as the controller, if you play it on the big screen.  It's not super comfortable for games, take my word for it.  Its the difference between using a wired controller, and using a wireless one.  It does have a slightly larger screen than the Go, and support for UMDs, however.

If you have no interest in the Wii, you should definitely get the PSP 3000. You want the games on it, and, little known fact, it can play games from pretty much every console the Wii can. And they're free.

I thought it was the PSP-2000 that was the preferred model for homebrew?  Isn't the 3000 a lot more difficult to use in that way?

I don't know to be honest, I've never used any homebrew on my PSP (which is a PSP-1000).

Don't buy a PSP GO, get a PSP 3000.
