Just a thought, alot of people on VGC claims the PSP Go is a flop. But a flop for 2 main reasons, price & no UMD drive. Its evident the world is being more friendly with digital distribution not just in games but in music & movies as well (Itunes & Netflix). Price factor can always drop so let that not be an issue, but no physical medium? Where's all the people that said digital distribution is the future?
As we can see MS is strongly supportive towards digital because thats more their turf (and lets face, they didnt quite back up HD-DVD), so what if MS decides to make their Nextbox720 all digital, disregarding all 360 disc games etc. will that flop? then same with PS4 and we wont be able to play any of our old games. Next, we wont have a VCR/DVD/BR player and we'll all just be playing off like an external HDD. As well, Steam is doing amazingly well for what it does. So if it all went digital in the next gen or next few gens ahead, will you still buy their new systems? Or will you transfer your PSP-Go hate towards them then?
Personally, an all digital "portable" gaming system is fine, its easy to handle like an mp3 player and cell phone (everything is already in there), but i would never want to digital to replace home console systems & movie players.
But know this, alot may hate on Sony's PSP Go. But i give props to Sony for being the first to try this "digital only gaming console", thru this MS & Nintendo will learn from Sony's experience and might decide our gaming fate to go all digital or stay physical. And at least Sony didnt make a completely new gen console/handheld just digital incase it bombed, thats why they kept the PSP-3000 =)
Im just curious to know what your opinons are to this situation (If some stuff doesnt make sense at all well sorry im no tech-savy guy lol).
Btw, today's my birthday so be easy on me if you feel like bashing what i said ^____^
[EDIT]: Thanks to those with the birthday wishes =)
