Forums - Sony - Resistance 2 or killzone 2

For sure Resistance 2. You will be disappointed with KillZone 2.

just get halo 3 much better or if you have to killzone

Viva la Resistance 2

Ifound kz2 to be very run of the mill.... but absolutely gorgeous...

Having played through both and I'd go with Killzone 2. It’s was just a more memorable experience for me. Hear are a few reasons I think it’s better (based 100% on single player, not really into the whole I shoot you, you shoot me, I shoot you, you shoot me multiplayer thing, for what it’s worth)

+ Superior Graphics- Killzone really is an amazingly immersive visual experience and a show piece for the PS3. Resistance is pretty bland/average looking in comparison.

+ Enemy AI- Killzone’s enemy AI is really good, the enemies flank, move under cover, and generally make you work for space. Significantly better/smarted than the enemies in Resistance 2, which are more of the run at you and shoot variety.

+ Weapons- Resistance may have better variety. But overall, I’d say Killzone’s weapons are much more satisfying to use. The sniper is one of the best uses of the six axis ever, and all the weapons just feel very powerful and real (at least in part due to amazing enemy animations when hit)

+ Cover Mechanic- I was resistant to use it at first, but the cover mechanic really does make the game stand out from a strategy perspective. It, along with the enemy AI, force you to really work to cover ground, and makes the game similar to Gears in some ways. Note; you can get away without using it a lot of the time, but played with the cover it's a lot of fun. It’s meant to be played this way, and is therefore a slower paced strategic type game than the more average run and gun FPS that is Resistance 2.

+ Graphics again- They really are that much better than anything else on the market!!!!!!

You really should play both. Resistance 2 is highly playable, just not as amazing a Killzone for me.

If it really has to be one of those......resist the filth, just get KZ2, but if you're really only getting it for the graphics, save your money and wait for Uncharted 2 - you're at least almost guaranteed an awesome campaign.

One of the disappointing things about both KZ2/R2's campaigns is that they have background stories/cutscenes that would make you think that you're about to fight in some large epic battles, when you actually fight alone in both more than half the time. They don't really give you a good sense of war.

The majority are playing CoD4/5 (and there's gonna be a massive wave of players ready to jump on MW2), but I know a rare few that happen to be hooked on KZ2 - maybe there's a slight chance you'll be in that crowd.

here's why R2 is better than KZ2 online

You can't go wronge with either one. I prefer the original FOM to R2, but the Co-op in R2 is fantastic.
KZ's controls are more difficult to master, but this is one of the things I like about KZ2.
Overall I would recommend KZ2.

Killzone 2

you wont believe how awesome it is

until you play it

You can't go wrong with either, they are both really good games, but I've found myself pick up resistance 2 way more after completing it than killzone but thats because on resistance they're is a co-op gameplay with mini stories , either way you will have fun what ever game you decide to get

Yeah, get both :P

If you enjoyed Resistance 1 then Resistance 2 is a good buy. The 8 player co-op is the best part of the game imo.

Killzone 2 is fairly unique gameplay-wise for an FPS with its cover system and the aiming may take a bit of time to get used to. A far more tactical FPS than R2.
