Some things to consider:

• Sony toke a huge gamble by making new IP's, it hurt software sales before, but now all those IP's are established and a guarantee 2million plus sellers. Games like Killzone 3, Resistance 3, , Infamous 2, Uncharted 3, Little Big Planet 2, Agent (probably), M.A.G 2, Demon Souls 2, will all have sales of over 2 million. Adding this in with previous established franchises like God Of War, Jak & Dexter, Twested Metal, Ratchet & Clank, ICO, etc, you have a monster software line-up. 
• PS3 is priced at a mass market level, $299.
• Sony has starting marketing like back in the PS1 Era.
• Sony's decision on going Blu-Ray is paying off now, and will be a HUGE factor in 2010-2011.
• Sony releasing a motion controller with same capabilities as Wii, adding more value to the system.

Combine all of these and you have the PS3 going into its prime. Its prime will really set off in 2010 and will end in about 2012. Mostly 2010-2011. Will PS3 start averaging 260k + sales in 2010-2011? Very Possible. Overall, Sony getting back up will only make the game industry more compititve.

Yeah, 2010 should be PS3 peak year. Maybe even 2011, but that's unlikely.

Now, it`s all about games, which PS3 is having a lot.

Jak & Dexter, Twisted Metal, Resistance 3, ICO, God Of War III, FFVXIII, FFXIV, MAG, Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet 2, all should be out in 2010, but I think Sony will hold out LBP 2 until 2011 christmas

PS3 prime yr is 2009 or at most 2010... i dont think any system prime has been 5 yr after its launch.. usually second or third yr are primes yrs for most of the systems in previous generations

still yet to hit 200$ or 150$ or 100$.

150$ price cut sony may try to bundle it with gran turismo 6.

2009/2010 = Peak years of the Ps3. Lots of realeases and the hardware itself is at a reasonable price.

Also rafi, how dare you make a typo in the name Twisted metal >:(...and I don't think Demon's Souls 2 will release soon, considering the fact that the devs are working on 3D dot game heroes and that it takes approximately 2 years to develop a game.
