is this game story driven??? b/c thats the deciding factor for me.

One thing BioWare are known for is the deep stories in their games. So yes.

Nope, they were known for it during the BG2 days, and it's almost a decade since than.

KoToR has one of the best stories in a RPG. What are you talking about?

Eh, I didn't the story was bad, but it certainly wasn't the strongpoint. I always thought gameplay was the draw of their games.

You thought the story wasn't a strongpoint in KoToR? Dude, lol! The story is what drove the average gameplay. Most people disagree with you, imo. Most reviewers too.

Yeah, I thought the gameplay was much better than the story. I honestly don't care who disagrees with me, but I will say I'm not alone.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

The STORY was the focal point of KOTOR....what is wrong with people

the gameplay while fun, wasn't the best part!

I LOOOOOOVED KOTOR's story, for a STAR WARS FAN I finally got my ultimate star wars experience, something unmatched to this day!

If you don't think KOTOR and Mass Effect have deep stories, I'd like to know what you've been smoking.

Kotor and Mass Effect have shallow stories, and extremely linear. Planescape: Torment is a game with a deeps story, not the shallow crap that Kotor and ME have as stories.

If you actually played great WRPGs, you would agree with me.

Let me make a comparison:

This game is like the FFXIII for PC fans, so you have to expect a lot of negativity about how it was "dumbed down" for consoles. Just like FFXIII was supposedly "dumbed down" for the 360.

This game represents the shift of exclusives away from PC and to consoles, and a lot of PC fans are enraged with bioware over making it a console game.

They are going to say it sucks, they are going to say that Bioware hasn't been good it years, and they are going to say it's dumbed down, but truth is, this was their my hyped exclusive just a few months ago, and it hurt a lot of feelings. Take the know PC fan criticisms with a grain of salt.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I disagree, KOTOR is the pinnacle of WRPG's in every way just like Final Fantasy 6 is the pinnacle of JRPG's in every way.....ofcourse FF13 will be that pinnacle soon, but anyway.

Much less than a year ago, shio told me that this genre of game could never be done on a console. He also has many, many lists of PC exclusives with this at the top, and I may be mistaken, but when this game was PC exclusive, he made several threads hailing it, and probably Bioware's awesomeness.

I won't dig them up unless he denies it....

I find this funny

as FF13 is HIGHLY HYPED among PS3 owners on Vg Chartz zen, I can't name more than 1 Xbox 360 owner hyped for the game.....I cans everal PS3 owners still maddeningly hyped for it

On the "MOST ANTICIPATED LIST".....FF13 gets so high because of PS3 owners votes

stop trying to stir things up

While I did think Diablo II was better, I don't think DII was really a story based "wrpg" more like a subgenre of treasure clicking and coolness.

Baldur's Gate 2 is the only game that has the "total package" as it were, that I could compare with KoToR. The formula has never been emulated as KoToR struck the perfect balance and made a game that was really special.

Yes, it might not be the best, but it's probably the pinnacle of WRPG in our lifetime. It encompasses everything great about the genre, and removes all the bad and boring things that inhibit other WRPGs, like The Witcher.

KoToR is a truely fantastic RPG. Saying it's not is pretty amazing, imo.

I'm not stirring, and I apologize if it seemed like I was generalizing, I'm just saying that some PS3 fans think of FFXIII as a betreyal, and unfairly berate it based upon that misunderstanding.

The exact same situation exists for this game and some PC fans.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

KotOR2 kicked the first one's ass.

I'd also say the original Fallout is better.

And if you prefer exploratory types, Bethesda games kick the living shit out of it.

Still, to be on-topic, I expect Dragon Age to be very cool and a lot of fun.
