I don't think anybody would be going out on a limb by saying the WRPGs have been higher quality than the JRPGs that have been released so far this gen, excluding handhelds of course.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Um...if you want to see too much love wait until FFXIII comes out. The highest selling WRPG is Mass Effect with 2 million in s ales. WRPG's are western RPG's which are made for Western audiences. Western games balance fantasy and realism and sci-fi unlike Japan who makes their game sets purely fantastical. Variety and the level of quality is what is catching westerners attention. I don't really care if the Japanese support it or not.

Final Fantasy XIII
White Knight Chronicles
Atelier Rorona
Final Fantasy XIV
Last Rebellion
Trinity Universe
Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll
Star Ocean 4 (if they fix it)
Tales of Vesperia (if it comes over)
and I think they may be it for PS3.

Not sure on which WRPGs I'm going to get, but Mass Effect 2 is the only one I'm considering for 2010. They'll have to change some things before it becomes an early purchase.

Eh? Oblivion is much more popular than Mass Effect. It sold near 3 million on 360 alone and over 1 million on PS3.

I'll avoid all of your other posts, because they are either:

1. Completely incorrect and basing an entire argument on a terrible misunderstood and misinformed stereotype

2. You don't consider JRPGs to be RPGs which is delusional

JRPGs on PS3, WRPGs on PC, unless they're only on consoles, then i'll buy the PS3 version (if it is 360 exclusive then i'll pass until i get one, if i ever do)...

both genres (wrpgs aand jrpgs) need to improve. a lot.

I won't quite get every single one, but I will certainly get quite a few, we are finally getting jRPGs on the PS3!

What he said. The Perfect Balance. Besides I think it should be a known fact that WRPG Devs are probably more comfortable working with the 360 over the PS3

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
