Now it definitely looks worthy of being a full-scale Wii game.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I can't wait for this game.

However i'm a little disappointed that they are reusing the music form the DS game, I was hoping for a new score.

I'd agree with this.

I mean, c'mon. An entirely new Mario game (his return to 2D for the first time in however long) deserves its own epic music. The game looks great (graphically) and I'm sure it'll have awesome gameplay, but game music is important to me as well. I'd say I'm more than just "a little disappointed" about it, but we'll see...

Graphics will look better when you are actually playing the game, and of course they will be much better than a DS game. >_>

Much better? Based on that trailer? To each his own. Wii games tend to look better online since they're not being upscaled on an HDTV. Most Wii games don't make the transition to HD very well but there are some exceptions, hopefully this is one of them.

@ people who hate the graphics.

I honestly don't see how this game can look any better other than going to 1080P.

I wouldn't go that far. A different artstyle would have been nice; I really think the NSMB artstyle was a little too...generic?...for its own good, and I'd have preferred that this one went with a different style. But as others have said, graphics<<<<gameplay, and this looks like it'll be fun with friends.

That pretty much sums up me feeling. Even for it's own style it could still look a lot better. Even if you like it there is no way you can think that's the technical limit of the 2.5D style. Just look at something like Little Big Planet or even Smash Brothers Brawl. Lots of 2D or 2.5D games trump this one in looks. Braid, Muramasa, Odin's Sphere, Smash Brothers, LBP. Though NSMB will likely be better than all of those games aside from Brawl, at least for me.

Try actually looking at screenshots of the first NSMB compared to screens of this. Notice that everything is made of polygons, and at a 5th gen amount?

This game has nothing of the sort. Just compare the Mario models from the two games. Either Mario has a higher polygon count and more detailed texturing, or he's a sprite. Either way, this is not the same art style and graphics of NSMB.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Someone needs to make a side by side comparison between NSMB and NSMB Wii. If you think they look the same you either never played the DS version, or you need to get your eyes checked. For one thing, there's a considerable lack of jaggies in the Wii game.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy
