wii might be cheaper so to a person looking for the cheapest and quickest package the ya they will get the wii
but..
for a person that does research and wants more for there buck and something higher quality then they will choose the ps3 and im pretty sure most people know the ps3 is a blu ray player...soooo for $100 more you get blu ray, hd games, dvd upscaler, free online i think its easy to choose imho.

but it really depends on the consumer so i have no clue, thats just my opinion.

And the person who actually looks at the games will choose the console they think has the better games. Oh wait nevermind, your  point about choosing a videogame console for it's multimedia value is better. Remember everyone, Wii owners aren't educated on their purchase. It is all impulse buying. Otherwise they would know from the start the superior product and choose not to buy the Wii.

I would say most console buyers period, PS3, 360, or Wii, aren't educated.

You think those 25 million PS3 owners are all hardcore gamers? or those 32 million 360 owners? I gaurantee you half of those sales were bought by "mom or dad".

Anyways, looks like it will outsell the PS3 by about 40k, which is pretty good, but the week after PS3 should be back on top.

Heading into the Holiday shopping season...I highly doubt it.  Given the current lagging economy, holiday shoppers are going to snap up the best deals, based on $$$, not perception of "total value" that sony tries to spin.  I expect 360 to rise in NA, and Wii in US and PAL as #1...as for Japan, chances are PS3 is going to do well and stay in #1, but then again...that is no surprise, as the PS3 has been doing well in Japan all year long.

Quote me: The Wii price cut will not have as much effect as people think.

yup, especially in Japan

double quoted for emphasis.

I'm thinking the wii will still sell considerably but without big name titles coming out more frequently, it will start to lose its massive hold

Actually in NA it should outsell it by about 65K, and should probably outsell it in europe as well, Japan depends, right now the Japanese preview is saying its close, but the Japanese preview is often hit or miss, so who knows

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

The PS3 has been doign well these last few weeks, but not this whole yesr. I think it's more of a case of Wii doing extremely bad (9 month software droubt anyone?). All Wii has had was MH3 and Wii Sports.

Wait, somebody thinks PS3 will be "back on top" in a week...

The PS3 was going to drop below the Wii in another couple weeks, without a Wii price cut.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

It is...really this is getting depressing of people's ignorance...

Former something....

Also we should see Wii sales remain strong in NA next week due to Wii fit plus

That's what people said on Slim launch, before slim launch and ever since the Slim launch. Look what happened there.

If that was directed at me I would like to bring up two points.

1. Why isn't it a game?

2. Who said anything about Wii Fit? Even then it is definately not the only reason to buy the Wii, and imo not anywhere near the best reason. There are tons of games for the Wii, and I would like to note that your argument is very old, and we've been through it over and over again already.

@Ph4nt That was sarcasm. ven then, you bring up good points which I agree with.
