Forums - Nintendo - IGN Wii Fit PLUS Review -- 8.2/10!! (The PHENOMENON continues)!

getting this on launch day

Around the Network

I'm really damn skinny and have been almost underweight at times, and I did gain a lot of weight using the original Wii Fit. I would just do as many push-ups as I could every other day, and 100 jack knives every day, and lots of lunges. And if I didn't start gaining weight doing all that, I'd eat more. It worked.

BMI is still flawed?

lol

Yea, Nintendo, wtf!?

I find the criticism over a lack of online Features laughable. I agree that there are games On the Wii which should have online and don't, but Wii Fit just isn't one of them.

As for BMI, it's flawed, but there's no effective substitute that Nintendo could have used. They should include it, but de-emphasize it so that it doesn't offend young girls or ripped people. Using it to fatten up your in-game avatar is a bad move.

Good score. Admittedly the graphics suck, but does anyone really think to themselves, "Man, these Wii Fit graphics sure do suck," when they play. If you do, you're probably a graphics whore.

Definitely agree with famousringo about less emphasis on BMI. My Mii is soooooo much fatter than I am. It's insulting.

Someone create a BMI is flawed thread, you'll get lots of VGchartz$.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

what I mean is that they could have just gotten rid of it.... wasn't there a lot of gripe about this before? someone killed themselves or something?

If someone killed themselves because a video game called them fat, then odds are he/she was going to kill himself sooner or later, it's good those genes were removed form the population (hopefully they had no kids).

DITTO

If someone killed themself because Wii Fit said they were fat, then I thinkt heir mental strength is as low as that of an ant. Natural Selection taking place here guys......such people don't deserve to live in this big bad world (not being harsh here).

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

They're complaining BMI is flawed? Did the fat reviewers get their feeling hurt?

I can't wait to do TAE-BO minus Billy Blanx

Don't give Billy Blanks any ideas.  You'll see his game right next to Jillian Michael's Fitness Ultimatum.

Fitness Ultimatum?

Yeah.  It's telling you to exercise or else.
