Next week expect to see HUGE sales for the Fifa10 game.

In UK some retailers have been rather naughty and cut the price by nearly half on the opening day. The game is released today and is meant to be sold for £39.99. However Tesco have decided to start a retail war by cutting the price by £15, selling it for £24.99......

Following suit Amazon then dropped their prices for the game too.

Last year Fifa sold around 8M units and is probably the most popular games title in the UK. EA and Fifa heavily market the game spending millions and millions on advertising alone.

So expect this game to fly off the shelves. You can talk about your MGS's, Your Call of Duties etc but Fifa is a whole new ball game. (excuse the pun).

Last year in it's first week it sold

323k on 360 in Europe, and 421k on PS3. I expect those numbers to be shattered if this now turns into a retail war and places like Game,HMV follow suit.

yea fifa is one of the most popular games in the UK. ps3 owners really must love their fifa's. every store i have been to is sold out of copies! or nearly sold out.

In Asda I don't remember the price but they did have a big stand just for the PS3 version of Fifa (Clear monyhatting /jk) and I didn't know if they was selling it on the 360.

Probably was as they'd be stupid not to. I did wonder round the 360 games section but can't remember as I hate football games with a passion. Been downhill since Gazza 2 on the GX400.

Expect big sales on the PS3 and hopefully this is the start of the now annual Christmas supermarket price war.

sold out in the massive Tesco superstore and the Asda one in Southampton. Going to be monster sales.

This is really annoying. My copy of FIFA 10 was shipped, for £40 on Tuesday, still hasn't got here...

But this will be huge!!!

yeah, my house mate was telling me, ill ask him to pick me up a copy from Tesco tommorow (he works there)
