Forums - Sales - Famitsu First Day Sales (10/01) WF+, GTP

i don't think it's a good idea to judge wii fit plus sales until the holidays are over. I don't think expecting it to sell as well as wii fit is a good idea though. I think famitsu had the right idea when they predicted somewhere around 1.8-2 million. Ironically that's the same as they predicted for the first wii fit and it sold double that.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I don't get what you mean ? Only two games release for the wii that day and My Sims is not going to sell in japan.

I'm just used to see DS dominating japanese game charts every week =P

And it most certain will this week as well. Inazuma Eleven 2 will debut north of 200 k with a chance of 250 k which is incredible when you consider that Inazuma Eleven sold 41 k first week.

Joining Inazuma Eleven 2 will be Pokemon HG/SS which very well could top the week since it seems to have gotten new shipments and Tomodachi Collection. Wii Fit + will be up there and  the PSP releases  Macross and Gran Turismo will be there but a bit lower than the rest.

Gran Turismo is seriously underperforming. So if anything Sony should be dissapointed with that one. 55 k first day must be seen as poor if the game is not gonna have monsterlegs.

DS is on fire in Japan right now! That is huge numbers for Inazuma Eleven 2! Both versions put together at 173 k first day with very good salethrough. Inazuma Eleven debuted with 41 k first week!
It´s easy to say that this game so far is performing over expectations. Could very well be the top selling release of the week.

Wii Fit + is doing good I think. First day sales are less than WSR but still respectable and it should do great in the long run with mighty legs.

Gran Turismo is underperforming in my opinion. I don´t think many expected Inazuma Eleven 2 to beat this one first week but it will.

It looks like even Macross could beat it which on the other hand is doing fine with great salesthrough.

So in a nutshell, a bit soft on everything but Inazuma Eleven 2 is doing awesome and is the weeks biggest surprise. Level 5 should be really happy.

You do realize that these are first day sales for games that debuted yesterday (Oct. 1st). There were only 2 new Wii games yesterday and 1 new DS game (2 if you count both versions as a different game ;-p ), so that's why there are so few Wii/DS games listed.

When the chart for the end of the week is released you will see all of the regular Wii/DS games on there like Pokemon, Tomodatchi Collection, Mario Kart Wii, etc. Those games are not new which is why they're not listed here.

Not to defend Soriku but I think a game like WF+ will sell a lot more for the rest of the week than NGS2 which will probably be much more front loaded (with lots a 1st day buyers).

Elaine: I will never understand people

Jerry: They're the worst.

Here's hoping that Inazuma Eleven 2 gets a North American release!

GT Probably sold significantly higher online. Considering the PSPgo is coming, a lot of japanese probably bought a digital copy they can transfer to their PSPgo when it comes out.

That being said, 33% shipment on day ONE is good. GT is a game with very very large legs.

Sony needs to release DL numbers.
