off topic guys, i was only responding to the guy who said "wrong" when he has no clue what hes talking about.

Oh that was me.

It is wrong.

Extreme price point?

Wrong.

No UMD?

Wrong.

Lower batter life?

Wrong.

This was a screw up by Sony. It could have been better.

It seems to me that the people who claim to like the Go are those who have had first hand experience with it and those who dislike it are those who haven't and are basing their opinions on reviews made by others...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Price point is fine. The compensation is fine. Its what the PSP launched at, it will drop.

No UMD? The engineering choice is smaller, more portable, cannot do this with UMD Drive. Right.

Lower Battery Life? Only if you keep the screen on super sharp, if you drop it its significantly lower.

I still don't understand the "lower battery life" gripe the reviewers have. Mine actually seems better than my PSP-2000 ever did, after 3 hours of MHFU play now. Still says it has 4 hours left -- that's better than my old PSP ever managed with this game, or any other.

I have wireless and bluetooth off... because (duh) I'm not using them, and they consume a load of power -- plus I doubt the amount of power those components consume is much less than any previous model of PSP. Do reviewers just walk around with wireless on, while playing, for no reason?

One of the reviews whined about how uncomfortable it was to use a DualShock 3 while playing via bluetooth on the little screen... it even had a picture.  I can't help but think "Does this guy not own a TV, or has he even considered that this feature might be for people who want to hook their Go to a TV and play it like a console, when at home?"

No it is not. Sony has fucked up with the prices of their systems in their past yet they CONTINUE to make the same mistake? People won't be amused to see that the PSPGo is $250 when they can get an Xbox or Wii for cheaper.

It's a horrible decision by Sony. "Hey, how can we make people hate us more?" "I know! Let's make the PSP Go not play PSP games!". How much do they piss off the average consumer saying that if you buy the PSP Go you can't play PSP games? A lot.

Okay then.

This thing was a screw up by Sony. It is basically a new handheld when it should be a remodel.

I'm not seeing how having a fast processor and GPU in a handheld, which, by nature, consume a load of power, is a bad thing.

If I wanted N64 graphics, and a tiny screen to play pointer-based games on, and that the battery lasts forever on (like any low power, low tech device)... I woulda scored a DSi, or maybe just used my notebook PC.  If I wanted crappy games, and onscreen controls, which are only decent in a select small set of games... I would have scored an iTouch.

Sony "screwed up" by refusing to defy the laws of physics again, did they?  Dang fools, they shoulda gave it a gas tank, so I could lug it around and play for days in the wilderness!

Seriously man, basically every "gripe" anyone has about the Go, outside of the price (IMO), is pretty meager... they almost reek of desperation to find something you don't like about the device.

Weak CPU and GPU (the PSP Go is basically the fastest serious gaming handheld in existance), bad ergonomics (like a box shape), weak interface (like touch only, which is the iPhone/iTouch's downfall), dependant on physical media (UMDs, carts)... those are valid complaints in my book.  Serious ones.  Battery life being one-third a waking day, instead of half... if you're away from power that long, you shouldn't have a portable handheld with you at all.  You should have like... water, and food in your pack, and maybe a leatherman and some binoculars, along with a tent.  You shouldn't be worried about whether your handheld battery will last you two days, three days... you should be enjoying real life.

To those who hate on the psp Go, remember it serves its purpose well.

1. Test the waters of digital distribution

2. Reignite interest in the psp system as a whole

3. Make Sony some Money!

That's it. Its not supposed to replace the 3000 or UMD, and it isn't supposed to dominated the handheld market. Its a test, a beta if you will, for the future of game distribution. And it does its job well.

why would anyone care about that?

@dtewi

PSPGo is a handheld, maybe if you had said DSi then ok, but why compare it to a home console? With that same logic, why buy anything when I can get a PS2? Its the cheapest console out at the moment with the biggest gaming library!

PSPGo has alot of benefits, I agree its a bit overpriced (especially here is Australia....). But its pretty good at what it does. It wasn't really made for the mainstream people. That's for the PSP3000. If you want a PSP and don't have the money, go get a PSP3000. If you want the benefits of the Go, and have the extra cash, get the PSPGo.

Too much hate going around. More loving please ^^

What benefits?

The J man is honestly not trying to be condesending but everytime he thinks about the pspgo , there is nothing remotely close to a "benefit" that can be associated with the go.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

No thanks. It's too expensive. Has no UMD drive, has poorer battery life, smaller screen, and a smaller form factor. I'll be picking up a PSP for VC2 and it will be a 3000, heck I'd take 2000 if I could find one. I prefer it's screen to the 3000s.
