Wii won't have a single game nominated. It's not that critics hate the Wii, it's that developers don't put as much effort as they do with the other consoles. Even Nintendo had its poorest year so far for a home console. Next year I say definitely yes.

2009 was overall a year to forget for the Wii, sales wise and game wise. Not terrible, but not how it should have been. 1st place console deserves much more, but it was long forgotten this year, even by the company that makes the console.

NSMBWii is the only chance Nintendo have on Wii to be nominated for and that is pretty pathetic when you think about it. DS will probably take out most handheld GOTY awards for one of Scribblenauts, Chinatown Wars, Bowser's Inside Story or Zelda: Spirit Tracks.

I think PS3 will come out on top this year with Uncharted 2 getting more awards than the top 360 exclusive (which may be Forza 3 depending on how reviews go for it) Modern Warfare 2 will take out GOTY overall though.

I'd love to live in a world where Little King's Story and Muramasa may be nominated in such awards (not win, just be nominated)... but i'm afraid they have no chance, for all the reasons discussed to death everywhere on the web in the last three years...

And i've decided to not care anymore about IGN, Gametrailers, 1Up, and all the other most famous gaming sites... i don't care about what they might think, and i don't care about the awards they may give to the best PS360 games, which usually, are games i don't care about: how strange...

Now, if Nintendo Life, Go Nintendo or the UK Official Nintendo Magazine give such awards, then you have a chance to see each Wii and DS game treated with respect, and rewarded for what it's really worth... and the nominees will all be the "must-play" games of the year for any Wii and/or DS player...

But anyway, most of us already know which are the best games so far this year, and even for the rest of the year: it's not like there's hundreds of these, so...

Wii game nominated overall : NSMBW, Tigger Woods 10

DS game nominated overall : Scriben

Best game no one played : LKS

There were plenty of good games this year, but nothing that might have the critical appeal of a Zelda or Mario game. Punch-out and WSR were excellent games and SHOULD be nominated. But critics won't even mention them as you say.

i really think tiger 10 has to be considered the best wii game this year the only complete anyone had with that game was the graphics wern't great other then that it was perfect

I wouldn't be surprised if M&L 3 gets nominated for GOTY from many sites...
