I don't know if you guys know this yet but, I noticed ever since I first played multiplayer in UC2 that, you can't get wet in multiplayer, try and go rolling in the water when you see a pond or something.

Drake can, but the other characters can't which is weird because they can in the singleplayer.

They need to patch that lol, either all can, or all can't, I need my wow factors damn it!

Pervert alert!!!

Someone wanna get Chloe wet...

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

No, next stupid question.

Did you actually take the time to read the OP or just come in after reading the thread title and not read further?

Don't question chairman Mao of China.

+1

No. But they can look too realistic.

What games look too realistic so far?

I really don't like the "Realistic" look that street fighter game above is going for.

But in turn, it looks awful. Realistsic is like say: Gran Turismo 5 or Killzone 2. That Street Fighter game just scanned real actors, put them in pixelated backgrounds, and called it a day. Even Mortal Kombat looked better than that, and it basically did the same thing as that.

I don't mind for a racer like GT5. It's not completely realistic, but it's close. however it's alot nicer to look at than real life.

Killzone2 however doesn't really look realistic at all to me, looks more like a very well detailed video game, and I like it just the way it is. Same for U2 and Heavy Rain. The day games like that street fighter game actually achieve that art style at a level where it looks exactly like two guys fighting in my back yard is the day I'll probably give up gaming... One of the main reasons I love gaming is to get away from reality..

4 ≈ One

I must admit I have done that a few times... but it can't be too pretty, though if they did put about 10x as many waterfalls in, then I would be stuck motionless, the water is just so amazing

Flower on PSN is too pretty XD

Yes, pretty can be dumb if it gets in the way of gameplay. Ex. r_picmip "5" and cg_simpleitems "1" in quake that almost everyone did.

I read the OP  and i want two minutes of my life back.

And imho that's bullshit. Game can never be too pretty as even if you like i visualy once novelty wears offf you will be shooting them just as well as if it were bad looking game.

I had the same problem with Okami

You might think wtf dude that for the wii(or ps2)... I know, but the art design was breath taking for me.

^^ What game is pretty but no appealing?
Have any examples?

On technically impressive but not good looking, the best, and latest, example would be The Conduit.  A game can have a lot of cool special effects, high resolution and all sorts of graphics technology, but if it lacks an artistic appeal then it looks bad.  Many people complain that games nowadays are filled with gray or brown.

It kinda reminds me of this vgcats comic:

I would have pasted it into the post, but it is kinda long.
