I clearly don't know my history so to conclude is this advert in good taste if the Rommel guy is considered "a good guy" or not?

As nordlead stated, and is obvious here, the typical gamer isn't going to know their history well enough to understand. From my perspective, that means this ad could be too easily misunderstood to be worthy of air time.
I don't think anyone really thinks otherwise, here.
Good strange ad. That's how you get peoples attention.
One thing these kind of ads doesm is create this mysterious image and delivers a thought of high quality to the average consumer.
The reason for this is because, well the ad is practically unrelated. Yet it relates in some ways that makes you use your brain to find out about it. That way it seems very intelligent.
It's very clever advertisement.
I'll go with clever then as it creates a discussion and false animousity until people realise they are making a mistake I guess.
are you guys that much of sony fanboys?
This isn't clever at all.
Unlike you, average people don't have a gut instinct to love sony, so when they see the advert. they aren't going to think deeply about it and try to find a reason for it to be clever. They will see a swastika and think, wtf Sony likes nazis, and then move on with their day.
And any discussion it has spawned, has led to most everyone saying, wow Sony's stupid. They are an incompetent company. Why would I want a product from an incompetent company?

FRIGGEN EPIC! added to favorites
is it terrible or you just a hater? how does one go about reporting this post?
I have to agree. I saw the new PSP Go ads and they failed to really show off the PSP Go. Mostly showed off people clubbing and stuff, but the PSP Go only had like 5 seconds of actual visibility in the 30 second spot.
